CAPCOM Entertainment Inc. Licenses Unreal Engine 3

SUNNYVALE, Calif - Feb. 27, 2007 - Capcom Entertainment Inc., a leading developer and publisher of video games, announced today that it has entered into an agreement to license the Unreal Engine 3 (UE3) from Epic Games, Inc., for an unannounced project being developed in North America.

"The Unreal Engine is one of the most powerful and versatile tools available for next-generation game development," said Mark Beaumont, executive vice president, officer and head of Capcom consumer software publishing in the Americas and Europe. "More than just a graphics engine, UE3 will empower the development team to create the quality experience that gamers expect from a Capcom product."

Unreal Tournament with Mega Man characters would rock... particularly if it could be an online multiplayer with the ability to pick your own character, choose from all sorts of good guys and bad guys with different abilities, strengths and weaknesses ... it could be a pretty cool game.

well now they have licence this they have now excuses for continuing the trend of porting pc versions of their games years after the console versions.
