Grand Theft Auto V Premium Edition Free to Grab on Epic Games Store

Epic Games has just done something that's sure to garner a lot of attention: they're offering free copies of Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto V. Yes, you can stop reading now and go on and grab it; you know you want to, even if you've played it on console already. The game is the latest entry in one of the most legendary franchises in gaming, and as it stands, counts with a 96 Metascore and a 7.8 user score. Even though the game has been released over five years ago, it's still one of the greatest, featuring a live community on its online components.

SplinterdogThe launcher's crapped out now which is rather inconvenient.
Same for me, for the last half hour though did manage to get in once and add it to my library, can't see me being able to download it anytime soon though lol

SithaerI had a 10 Euro coupon from 2019 holiday which had the same 'rules' as the current one at least based on the coupon description.
You can use it on a 20$/Euro game and pay 10 at checkout,at least thats how it worked with 20 Euro Beyond Two Souls I bought with it a few weeks ago.

The minimum price has to be at/over 14.99 and not the checkout.
You're probably right. I tried it earlier and it said it wasn't eligible (the details made it sound like it had to be $14.99 after discount), but it could just be that their servers were acting up. I've been trying to get back to try it on Metro Exodus/AC: Odyssey but like the others have said, it just isn't working right now.

The plot thickens, I have about 20+ or so games in epic, most of them free I might add, and now I can log into my account however my library is only showing me the games I currently have installed as the ones I own, most of them have disappeared completely  their servers must be getting absolutely hammered though I hope they can resolve this as there will be a mass exodus if other people are having the same issue and it doesnt get resolved, the likes of which has never before happened on a game store that I can recall

That's happened before on EGS. I've had my entire library disappear on Twitch...

It'll get resolved.

Edit: I've had missing games on Uplay, Origin and Steam before too.

ok, its going from bad to epic clusterf**k, having restarted and started the Epic game store yet again..... now it's defaulted to what I believe is Russian language? have they been hacked or is it just a case of they don't have the server capacity to be able to service as many users that are trying to access the store?

bizzmeisterGoodluck to all of you that want to download this frickin old ass game now with its 88+GB download with updates on your small SSD's lol
So, you're aware that GTA V is old, yet not aware that "small SSDs" are also a thing of the past? I hope you don't believe Doom Eternal's coming out on floppies...

I've just made some email addresses this evening and I'm downloading it for everyone in the house!! :D :D

It's a shame that it's a 94GB download.... At 5 minutes to download 1GB, this is going to take a while...... I'm hugely upset as my best mate over in the US is downloading at over 40MB/sec and is nearly done in comparison....

Fastest PC in the west being fed by a floppy drive!!    :nutkick::nutkick::nutkick::nutkick::roll::roll::roll:

Small SSD's aren't a thing of the past buddy lol. I see a ton of people with small size SSD's in their sigs and posts ( under 512GB ). Those poor souls cant even install Modern Warfare and GTA V together without crippling their space lmao.

It's all relative.
Small drive - Got a life.
Huge drives - No life.

2TB SSD here but it's mostly filled up, around 350GB left. Starting to kick out a few games already to make space as I need to fit Doom Eternal, Zombie Army 4, this game & a few DLC.

Next upgrade 4TB SSD to become standard, don't like running out of space & deleting things to make room.

Totally
If you guys have a steam copy, just download it from there and copy/move the files to the EGS directory, and don't forget to close the EGS app beforehand.

You do know that PCs, unlike consoles, can handle more then 1 drive at a time, right?

Why do you care so much about "SMOL DRIVE LOL" as in the sigs on the site are written in blood and sealed with the souls of the writers?

It should probably also be noted that GTA V gains zero from an SSD anyways. The game is optimized like trash. I've had the game on a 1TB PCIe 4.0 drive and it hasn't made an iota of difference. Game literally utilized a single core when loading and maybe 8% GPU. Loading screens take anywhere from 8 to 12 minutes.

I love how you assume you are hitting nerves when people are merely pointing out the flaws in your post.
