ASUS Readies Evangelion-themed ROG Product Line
ASUS is readying a wider range of Evangelion-themed ROG product line, building on the collaboration the company built with the popular Japanese action anime in 2022. The 2023 lineup is comprehensive, and includes a special Evangelion edition of the ROG Maximus Z790 Hero motherboard, special edition variants of GeForce RTX 40-series ROG Strix graphics cards (could be anything from the RTX 4070 thru RTX 4090), a special edition ROG Hyperion GR701 case, themed ROG Ryujin II AIO CPU cooler, a themed ROG Thor ATX 3.0 power supply, and lastly, keycap and body panel sets for its various ROG gaming peripherals. ASUS is planning to showcase the 2023 Evangelion lineup at Bilibili World, later this month.

It's a match made in hell.
Shinji / Eva Unit 01 is the main character, but no one likes him. (For good reason: he's an exceptionally broken character going through tough times). Rei was most interesting to me personally (Unit 00), but Asuka's colors are probably the most fashionable?
Rei's Eva was the prototype in the story... and doesn't appear too often. I'd expect a Rei-based design to be of her white-and-blue suit. Which probably would look good. I honestly can't remember much about Unit 00 though.
Ex: Mass Production Model Eva colors (white and black). Sachiel (angel from the 1st episode), or Seele colors.
Honestly, I can see myself buying Seele themed Eva-stuff before I buy Unit 01 or Shinji colors, lol.
The movie ties together the original ending with the Rebirth ending. It solidifies Gendo's mindset (ex: a big question was how does Gendo see Rei? Yes, she's a clone of Gendo's wife/clone of Shinji's mother, but the 3.0+1.0 movie clarifies finally that Gendo see's Rei as her own self, as a daughter. Not as a science-project to recreate his wife). Rei's development after all is about her clone-self: whose soul is she? Where does she fit in all of this? She may be the most fit mentally, but she's still got existential issues, and the movie finalizes where she plays in the entire plot... in a way that the other two endings failed to do.
A lot of the fan-theory was that Rei saw her self (and Gendo saw Rei), as Yui (the wife of Gendo / mother of Shinji). The movie explicitly goes against the fan-theories and gives us a far more plausible explanation. Contradicting the long-running fan-theories of the relationship of characters takes a lot of guts, and this "Rei is the daughter of Gendo / Sister of Shinji" thing is a very pleasant way to tie up the series.
The anime-ending was pretty good (and I like it a lot more than Rebirth). But 3.0+1.0 really adds to it.
------------
From Shinji's perspective, it actually gives a plausible escape for Shinji's depression. It takes multiple weeks, and characters who have grown up (since Shinji is time-locked due to the 3rd impact). Grown-up Toji and the new character Mari Makinami give Shinji a path to escape the oppression of the Hedgehog's paradox.
EDIT: The fight scenes were kind of bad though. But I guess they were better than the original ending.
Anyways, really a waste of time. I don't recommend anyone watching the movies, just stick to the incomplete anime series.
not that @dragontamer5788 ’s explanation was perfect (where’s the Gendo analysis!!!), but I think you aren’t understanding that the goal of NERV et al wasn’t a nihilistic ending of the world but a (nihilistic) rebuilding that Shinji (despite his depression) acts against (in order to achieve a more compassionate singularity that brings about a reset of humanity rather than a holy permanence)
Damn.
Anyway, Where is my Macross Do you Remember Love 1982 TRS-80?
Robotech: The Macross Saga (Super Dimension Fortress Macross)
Robotech: The Masters (Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross)
Robotech: The New Generation (Genesis Climber MOSPEADA)
Toonami Intro (Original)
Oops, 1984 I mean. So where is my Commodore Amiga Macross edition? It's all because of the court battle between Hasbro and some other company who claimed ownership of Macross series. Apparently that was resolved this year in Hasbros favor. So they plan new releases.
I have the DVD of the Macross Plus OST and I'm planning to buy the Robotech Blu-ray bundle.
