Thermalright Intros AXP90-X53 Full Copper CPU Cooler

Thermalright today introduced the AXP90-X53 Full copper CPU cooler. A variant of the 53 mm-tall AXP90-X53 top-flow air cooler, this one comes with a nearly 100% copper build, with the CPU contact base, heatpipes, and fin-stack made entirely of the red metal. The only bits on the heatsink that aren't made of copper are the steel retention clips. A copper base plate pulls heat from the processor, conveying it to four 6 mm-thick copper heatpipes, which pass through a copper fin-stack. This is ventilated by a 15 mm-tall 92 mm fan. The base may look like it's plain copper, but has C1100 nickel-plating, and can take even those kinds of TIM that would damage copper over time.

The included Thermalright TL-9015R 92 mm fan features an orange impeller with a contrasting red frame. It features a fluid dynamic bearing, and takes in 4-pin PWM input. It turns at speeds of up to 2,700 RPM, pushing up to 42.58 CFM of airflow, at 1.33 mm H₂O static pressure, and 22.4 dBA noise output. With the fan in place, the Thermalright AXP-90-X53 Full copper measures 94.5 mm x 95 mm x 53 mm, weighing around 600 g (including fan). CPU socket types supported include LGA1700, AM5, LGA1200, and AM4. The company didn't release pricing information.

Thermalright is on point lately. Also see alot of interest in new itx cases that don't take aio, and something like this is perfect.

ParnReminds me the classic Thermalright SK6 from two decades ago. That was the beginning of high performance pure copper heatsinks made by Thermalright. I used to buy them exclusively during the S754 and S939 time.
I have the XP90-C from s939 days and still am using it on an Ivy Bridge. I made a custom mounting kit. This was circa 2006 and TPU reviewed it.

I have the shorter AXP90 Full Copper, and it works great.

You can bend the fan hold down wires to accommodate a 25mm thick fan with a little effort as well. Putting a black fan like a Be Quiet on the copper looks real nice.

It's reminiscent of the True Copper, but it's not a chonker (600g vs 1900g).
The OG could be mounted on the business end of a mace :p

freeagentI did smirk, and I usually giggle.. but that cooler is so small man, what do you expect me to do with it? I know they say size doesn’t matter.. but cmon ;)
Well what copper lacks in size it makes up for in mass. Lol

Ran my Sandy 3700 at 3GHz, and my 4400 at 2700

Vintage and copper...I hear ya, still got these two in da drawer: Definitely not as shiny as the one in the press release. The Extreme spirit is so cute, like a mini CPU cooler. I guess it can handle a Raspberry Pi chip.

A very nice looking cooler I'd love to see performance figures. Review incoming hopefully.

They have numerous different pure copper coolers. But some models sure are hard to find here.

Very nice! :)

Although I'm wondering how much the copper fins help with heat dissipation.

freeagentHe just said that because I own like 12 of their coolers, not the TRUE Copper though.. the one that got away ;)
Thermalright are the S%^& if you are into hardware. I have bought 3 of them in the last 3 months.

NathaaabLikely not a lot, the C7 and C7 Cu were both tested here and the difference is a few degrees in favour of the full copper in most situations

Thanks for that, actually some of the elements in the conclusion are valid for this one here as well. I don't think there is a mounting bracket for 92x25mm fan. I run my Noctua NH-L9i with a 92x25mm and the longer screws were included by Noctua in the OEM packaging.

AssimilatorMan, this reminds me of the TRUE Spirit Copper. That was a chonker!
I remember drooling over the Ultra True Copper 15 years ago. Almost 2 kg and just 2*C lower temperatures, but it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

If only we had copper instead of RGB...

sLowEndThis exists, but every listing I've ever seen of it has been rather expensive

That's the 100mm version. Need the 120mm version.

And if the fan on that 100mm CPU cooler gets broken, you actually have to buy the same CPU cooler all over it again over just buying a new CPU fan, because of the not standard fan size.

Not true. You can use 92mm fans too, such as what this person did with theirs

There is also an included adapter for 120mm fans

Hmm ok. Then the CPU cooler is on my list of air CPU coolers to maybe buy :) .

Or this CPU cooler might ONLY be an option to buy if it can be used with RAM modules that are 44mm high. The 'Thermalright AXP120-X67' CPU cooler have RAM clearance of 45mm.

EDIT: Maybe this one can be used with 44mm high RAM modules?: www.thermalright.com/product/axp-100-c65/

It's the same CPU cooler as the 'AXP-100 Full Copper', except the one I linked over is higher.
