Beta SoundBlaster Audigy And X-Fi Driver

Creative released a new Beta Driver for all SoundBlaster Audigy and X-Fi series cards addressing an OpenAL problem which occurs in various systems. This beta is only recommended for those who are experiencing problems with their current audio drivers. Creative doesn't specify for what OS this driver is and so it may be a universal one.

they have one for every os, but I was wondering if anyone has tried this? I wanna get rid of my horrible screatching noises, but I don't really put much faith in creative.

seems 32bit and 64bit
There is warning when you try to install it:
"Today is July 27, 2007. This driver you are about to install will timeout on November 7, 2007. At that time, you may uninstall the driver safely."
;)
It works with Windows Vista (32bit) too but the CMSS-3D seems have some problems

Vista x64 doesn't work, I tested this driver last week. It is not signed either.

It is Beta that's why it ain't signed. And i don't understand why creative didn't send out info about it on the 17th when they released it.

Might be for most. I think the vista drivers are still screwy though.

just installed these, hesitant at first but im always up for a new driver lol.
had to fiddle around to get CMSS working (like i had to go into sound properties and turn up the individual sound channel's volume...) haven't tried any games yet though, also sets it to digital output only by default so watch out for that if your using an analog audio system like me.
BTW im using 500 watt 5.1 system.

well, my $160 pos soundblaster is in the mail for RMA. I was so excited after twenty hours of music.... the five minutes in BF2 and I almost lost my hearing. my razer barracuda should arrive shortly, though.
