Windows Vista SP1 to Hit Windows Update on Tuesday

According to information posted on Amazon.com and reports from TechARP.com that correctly called SP1's ship date last month, Microsoft will release Windows Vista Service Pack 1 next week to a wider audience. Amazon currently lists Vista SP1 retail copies as available next Wednesday, March 19, while TechARP.com, the Malaysian Web site that nailed the update's release to manufacturing (RTM) date several days early, said users would be able to download SP1 starting Tuesday, March 18. Vista SP1 shipped to duplication and OEMs on February 4th, but since then it has only been available to previous beta testers, volume licensing customers and subscribers to IT subscription services. Hopefully, next week the long awaited Vista update will become available once and for all.

Ok, so I have been trying to figure out why I got it already, and I guess perhaps it was because I had used RC1? Maybe. Although I had a different mb and almost completely different hardware at the time so..... I kind of don't like the idea that microsoft apparently considers me a beta tester, or really any other reason that I would have but, I guess I shouldn't complain......:wtf:

Anyway, I haven't really noticed any difference w/ sp1, but I'm sure there are at the very least some good compatibility fixes. I wonder, will I get another version when its released?

Iam guessing this is released on all languages at the same time?

There was news long ago, where it stated that english Vista SP1 would ship first and people with other language would have wait get it later.

edit:

Techarp had the information, looks like the other language owners get their SP1 on April 18, 2008.

Wonder how this will effect servers with so many people downloading at the same time.
Should be a good update, there is no point in not downloading it.

MS accidentally released SP1 via auto update about a month ago for 64bit machines. Heard about it on hexus.net. I hope it improves performance a noticable amount.
