AMD today expanded The Ultimate Visual Experience for North America with the ATI All-In-Wonder HD, combining award-winning ATI Radeon Premium graphics and ATI TV Wonder HD tuner technology card in one PCI Express 2.0 solution. As the newest multimedia powerhouse to join the long line of All-In-Wonder offerings, ATI All-in-Wonder HD transforms the PC into a highly immersive digital video recorder for HDTV and analog TV, plus expands the realm of exceptional gaming with cinematic HD graphics for mainstream PCs. Blu-ray disc playback can be enjoyed in full HD glory (1080p) thanks to ATI All-in-Wonder HD's unified video decoder (UVD) technology, ensuring movies play back smoothly and with incredible detail.
The graphics core is derived from the Radeon HD 3650, 55 nm, clocked at 725 MHz (memory: 600 MHz DDR2). AMD claims that the graphics performance of the card will beat a standard Radeon HD 3650 by 5 to 15% in popular games. The card incorporates the ATI Theater Pro 650 chip. Other prominent features include ClearQAM, a hardware MPEG-2 encoder and full hardware acceleration for H.264 and VC-1. The Adaptive Comb-filter provides better image quality.

Wow ATI finally listened! Awesome can't wait for this!
Wow I haven't seen one of these in a long time...good job AMD/ATi!!
Sweet. It's about time they brought AIW back.
Nice! I was wondering when they would pull their heads out of their asses and get this bad boy back on the market :rockout:
Now gogo hybrid crossfire with a 4850/4870 and you've got quite a useful TV tuner :)
im buyin one for my HTPC!

by: ShadowFold;856656yeah screw my Nvidia 8600GT. I am going in for this when it is released. WOW AMD is becoming a GPU company. They are going full throttle in this field.

by: suraswami;856661Well im sure ATi would have done the same :p

That card and the 780g...that's a HTPC dream.
heck id take the 780G with a more powerful dedicated HDTV tuner myself, its a tad pricer but worth the extra cost
ATi love is in the air. Sign me up for one of these! I just hope the television part works well.:)
by: candle_86;856682You're getting a graphics card + HDTV tuner (with full native-processing, the CPU is not burdened) + sound card ( 5.1 channel HDMI pass). What more could you ask for? Buy this with a cheap ($50) nForce 520 or AMD 690G board, you end up with an awesome HTPC capable of 1080p, and also transcodes HD 1080p to H.264 in real-time (single stream).

Nice one ATi, now give us a 4850 AIW! :D
That would be a true all-in-one tool for HD home movie makers!

sweet and if its faster then my x1950pro i might even buy it for gaming:rockout:
The only thing I wish they could give the AIW cards, is CrossfireX support.
Quick: someone point JrRacinFan (sp?) to this topic.
EDIT
I must have confused JrRacinFan with someone else: i thought i remembered JrRacinFan having links in his sig about the AIWs but it appears it's a different dude that has it instead.

The part of the PCB where the bridges are supposed to be is occupied by the HTDV tuner. The tuner can't be repositioned since the coaxial port can't extend into the card, the CFX bridge can't be relocated on the side of the card since ATI maintains a universal location for the bridges on the PCB, X1950 Pro onwards. :(
by: btarunr;856724They could've remotely mounted the tuner, and mounted the coax in a manner similar to the DVI ports.

by: Wile E;856726You can still CF through the motherboard though, the bridges arent exactly 100% necessary.

Good point Tk, and the performance hit wouldn't be huge, considering the 3650 probably doesn't tax PCIe too much and PCIe 2.0 even less, compared to a higher end card.
Would be nice to have CrossfireX, with four of these, making four TV tuners.

rofl. Would be nice if they released a HD3450 AIW on PCI-E 1x. AMD should have made a HD3850 AIW, except using a dual slot cooler so that heat can actually be exhausted, instead of being pumped into the reciever.
WOW! The AIW is now back! I am quite surprised!
YES!! I have always loved the quality video capture that ATI Radeons produced, and I can't wait to upgrade to one of these. :) Now I can make that new High Definition Home Theater system without any compatibility or quality concerns.
Thanks for bringing the AIW back ATI! :toast:

Woah! I wasn't expecting them to bring the AIW back. My X800XT AIW kicked some serious ass, so if they release a 4850 AIW it would be a match made in heaven...
Isn't that what they usually did anyways? I remember the 9600XT AIW before the 9800 AIW, and the X600 AIW before the X800AIW. I could be crazy though, but maybe this is a sign of good things to come!

VisionTek is the first ATI board partner to sell this card. Expect them roll it out soon.
does this mean it will pick up Freeview in the UK?
TV Tuner Support – Single Hybrid Tuner
Over-the-air Digital TV / HDTV (ATSC)2
Over-the-air / Cable Analog TV (NTSC)
Clear-QAM (unscrambled) Digital HD Cable3

w00t! bring back the AIW's!!!!
I Was hoping it would come with an HDMI port, if not that a DVI port with DVI to HDMI converter. 1080p is truly benefitted from HDMI.
by: WarEagleAU;857209It does comes with HDMI port. Take a look at the picture.

now if we can get one in the 4850 and 4870 Flavor that supports the same upcoming coolers for the non AIW parts. I also want to bet they finally managed to Defeat MS code that was preventing previous AIW parts from working- WDM driver wise.

Plus I love to get my hands one one of those!!!

w8ng in the 4870 aiw

I'm amazed ATI are bringing back the AIW series.
It seems all the corporate executive shuffling AMD/ATI have done over the last 6 months is going to start coming to fruition.
The AIW were superb cards, and bringing them back will most defi help AMD/ATI regain their lost market shares

Actually, I was looking at this. I was helping support IRA at one time. This is a good option tho for people with budget mind. :D
Good job ATi!
good things, good things!
Im using a AIW 9800 right now, be glad to finally upgrade to a PCI E version.

by: cdawall;858224You are correct sir. :)
