The HD 4650 is positioned to compete with the GeForce 9500 GT while the HD 4670 is in improvement over it. Both cards are built for HD entertainment, media and casual gaming added.

Specifications for the HD 4650 are as follows:
  • 600 MHz core speed
  • 667 MHz memory speed
  • 512 MB of DDR2 or GDDR3 memory
  • 21.3 GB/s memory bandwidth
  • 320 Stream Processors
  • 384 GFLOPs of shader compute power
  • 16 TMUs
  • UVD2 Video Processing Engine
  • 55 W TDP, 55nm Silicon Fab. Process
Specifications for the HD 4670 are as follows:
  • 750 MHz core speed
  • 1000 MHz memory speed
  • 512/1024 MB of GDDR3 memory
  • 32 GB/s memory bandwidth
  • 320 Stream Processors
  • 480 GFLOPs of shader compute power
  • 16 TMUs
  • UVD2 Video Processing Engine
  • 70 W TDP, 55nm Silicon Fab. Process
The Radeon HD 4670 launches first on September 10th, with the Radeon HD 4650 following it on September 24th.

How many ROP's?
8? Specs indicate it probably is a RV770 sliced in half lol.

The GDDR3 version of the series looks like a more updated version of the Hd 3850 when the memory is OC'd. It will be very interesting to see these in action, however I want to see the 4450 in action with Hybrid Xfire.

these would be good/best in an HTPC system.

No memory overclock will ever bring these cards up to the level of an HD3850. The crippled 128-bit memory bus is just way to slow. These should still be very nice performing cards though.

Not bad for the typical gamer, hardcore for the media and casual gamers lol.

What are these going to cost, $35?

prolly not, the HD 4670 will likly compete with the 9500GT despite what AMD claims, so id expect them priced next to each other. AMD really needs a card to compete with the 9600GT, as the HD3870 costs more to make than the 9600GT

Keep in account that RV7x0 generation chips have much faster AA. This will help compared to HD3850 in real games.
While this is just a guess, i think it will have 8 ROP's.
Because the HD4670 has more compute power, i think it will be at least as fast as the HD3850 @ 1280x1024 where memory bandwidth is not such an issue. Considering these cards are meant for cheaper computers, most of those computers are accompanied with a 19" monitor.
I guess the (possible) intro price of $130 is quiet steep but it will fall really fast (just like the price of 2600XT fell really fast). I think in one or two months you can buy these for under $100.
