Steam is a pretty sweet program. I don't even buy pc games in stores anymore. Just get them cheaper on steam and don't have to worry at breaking your disc cause you can just download your games whenever you want.

ManofGodI really want Bioshock but it has issues with Vista 64 at least for me. I tried the demo and it crashed on my system.
I am running Bioshock on Vista 64 with no problem. What are your symptoms? Is it by any chance getting through the menus ok but the game freezing as you start to load the level?

If thats the case, try disabling Tablet PC components in Windows Features. I had that problem after I installed my Wacom grahics tablet, was pulling my hair out cos it would start in DX9 mode but not DX10.

I stumbled on the solution after a google search, was well chuffed to fix it! Love that game, though I still haven't got round to completing it, LOL

Just when i thought Steam is making up for past trechery! Went and checked out which games were giveaways, and which games actually are still not worth the price and was shocked to once again find discounted prices on either an outdated game or something that my limited mental state finds shit.

I wouldnt reinstall Bioshock if someone gave me an entire enthusiest PC to do it too. Call Of Duty 4 is nolonger modern, Left 4 Dead is okay but not worth more then $20au, the rest fit into my 'shitlist'.

I wonder if America have recieved their bandwith limits yet. Countries like Australia have never had unlimited download limits on speeds exceeding 150kb ( This plan is outdated and rare to find nowdays ) and properly understand how stupid downloading entire decent games really is. When this motion comes to pass, and it will . . . Players such as BrooksyX will have to purchase his/her games inturn helping to prevent piracy.

That TPG plan is 150kb, its ADSL. I was in reference to the rest of the world. A 10Mb connection for 3 minutes pwnz TPG, a 100Mb connection for 25 seconds pwnz TPG, and lets not get into Kensai Electronics true 1Tb connection.

150kb a second is rather poor for this day and age. Ofcourse i do have the option of going to ADSL2+ for a more suitable bandwith speed of 24000kb but with a 25Gb limit, ill be shaped back to dialup by day 2. ( What sucks for me is that Optus, TPG and the rest of them refuse to lay their own lines in my area and dont have plans for it ever, leaving Telstra as my only viable ADSL2+ service provider, which ofcourse charge the highest rate in Australia and have shitty limitations. Also, not having overhead powerlines denies me a Cable connection ). TPG use to have the same Business Plan settings for $69 a month, Dodo beat them at one stage by $10. Both were regular packages, and not business.

I dont hate Americans ' kysg ', im just jelous of your connections and the fact that almost anybody can ammend your constitution. Do you have a download limit Kysg ? If you dont mind, what is your bandwith speed and how much do you pay per month ?

Im currently paying $69au, for 1500/256 ADSL. I get 60Gb download limit a month. What super sucks here in Australia, is that anybody with the same company as me with ADSL2+ available in their area gets a free upgrade to ADSL2+ from ADSL and they pay less per month. They end up with more download bandwith, better latencies, better speeds and cheaper plans. Im yelling RAPE! So you see, its not the Americans i hate. Its everyone!

America's starting to get bandwidth limits on their ISP's now -- in particular the two largest companies, AT&T and Comcast, have publicly disclosed them. The bandwidth limits are a bit larger than yours (Comcast's is something like 300GB a month) but seeing as how the average speed is faster (Comcast's is usually something like 20Mbps down) it doesn't last as long.

I seriously wish Wizz would put a site-wide word filter on this site, so that words like "Marxism," "Capitalism," "Obama," and "Socialism" would be replaced by "taking your soul," "buying your soul," "some dude," and "sharing stuff," respectively, so these political debates would end as soon as they begin.

Actually the bandwith limit was around 250GB but seeing that the average user does not use that much they pretty much are trying to warn people who download a lot. (torrents)

Currently on my connection i am on 10MB down and 1.5MB up and have no caps. I am paying about $68 US after the taxes.

Waste of $$$ all the servers have a 400+ latency. i got better pings with my 56k modem (150ms) 7 years ago. I wish it would let you trial stuff before buying so you know if you can run it (or at least see the servers).

[edit] it won't even download - download starting..... (5 mins) then nothing click again same thing. I guess steam is a US only thing - i wonder if i can get a refund.

[update] steam support> The username and password combination you entered did not match any user we have on record.
We could not find an account with that username or email address

Nice.

Telstra offers unlimited ADSL2+ for $400 or $300, can't remember. You will need an ABN for it though.

You have to admit this MUST BE a bad joke. They inflate our prices just to offer overall discounts soon after. And the worst thing is that even with the "massive" discounts prices are higher than before here. Except for Bioshock.

TBH Valve is just pissing me off lately. It may sound stupid (it's been a year r more since we coincide gaming at the same time), but my bro and me just found today that NOW you can't use the same steam account on two different computers at the same time when you want to play 2 DIFFERENT games even if they are offline games. That's ridiculous!! Before you could play different games, but NOT now. You can still play them on offline mode, but every time we start steam it starts online and the only secure way of ensuring that my brother won't get kicked if he is playing is by disconnecting the LAN cable. Wile E talked about convenience in the other thread... YEAH, the convenience we are just experiencing is PRICELESS.

This is sad. I am sad :( This just means we down here have NO hope of ever having decent connections. Hopefully someone your way changes things back the way it was.
There was mention of severe upgrades Australia wide during previous elections, but im sure you know how those things all turn out.

Is this a TRUE 10Mb connection ? If so . . . You pretty much are on a connection i would kill for.

Your right, its $310au a month. Its a great plan, except the price is rather stupid for a regular home use. Just wish they had the same plan for a third of that price. I think my ABN is still valid, hmmm.
TripriftId say dont bother then Haytch if thats the your only option ya cant get Internode theyve opened up heaps of new adsl2+ accross the country.
:( Internode are yet to expand my way. Gave them a call about a year back and they had no plans too. Maybe i should harass them.

I dont even want to add up how much i pay for phone bills that includes mobile calls, international calls, local calls, line rentals, omg it doesnt stop. Just need a proper connection and then i can do it all from that. Bastards got me under the thumb.
