Empire: Total War Demo Available Now Exclusively on Steam

The official demo for Empire: Total War from The Creative Assembly and SEGA is now available on Steam. This free demo provides a short glimpse of the kind of epic engagements available in the full version of Empire: Total War, which will be released on Steam and at retail in early March. The demo offers players the opportunity to take on the American Army and the French Navy from The Creative Assembly's own "home" side, playing as the British Empire in the "Battle of Brandywine Creek" and the "Battle of Lagos."

Those who pre-purchase Empire: Total War on Steam receive The Creative Assembly's game "Rome Total War Gold Edition" for immediate download. For more information, please visit Steam Games. The Empire: Total War demo can be found here.

Yeah I hope they fix them before release. At least in Europe we have the advantage that by the time it is at retail the first patch is usually applied or some kind of patch zero of sort. The most evident bugs that sometimes go into the release US copies are fixed before it reaches Europe. Sometimes even when they've been released at the same time!! That's something I never really understood HOW.

BTW sea battles are amazing! You have to micromanage the ships a lot, especially for movement, but it rocks!

Damn, I can't buy this game yet. I have many others yet unfinished. I don't want to buy this game yet, because that could mean that I never finish Fallout 3, for example. Because if I start with this game...

Lucky bastard. :p

It's weird, because I think it's loading the main menu what it takes the time. Maybe has something to do with the Vram?

Dear sweet god I can't believe they released it in this condition. It has random lockups which require the pc to be restarted, Sometimes I get massive amounts of lag even though at 1920 x 1080 all ultra i get 30 - 60 fps usualy and it happens when units are retreating.

Amazing demo, i loved the ship battle.

Only problem is when i get up close on the action it lags a bit(on medium). I am only not a fan of the grand campaign in total war games, just the battles.(which the demo had)

That's really weird, I already replay the battles more than 10 times, and I didn't have any problems :wtf:.

It lags pretty bad for me at some bits. I fixed it. Once putting everything on high, it worked better than medium. Strange, but win.

This is an awesome demo, playing it on Very High 1280x1024 and no lag whatsoever. The game play is amazing, and even just the two battles are tremendous. Definitely gonna buy it!

Seems pretty fun so far. Pretty power hungry though. I have it maxed out and it just barely stays above 30 fps on the naval battles, when zoomed in to ships. Zoomed out it runs pretty well.

The naval warfare so far, I have done twice and each time I just click my ships on one opposing ship at a time, and each time I have won. So not sure if there is some good strategy to be developed. I'm sure there is. I did notice that having one of your ships fire, while behind a friendly ship is not good (should have known this from all the other total wars.).

I'm not sure how I feel about the whole gunpowder battles. Seems pretty cool, but It will take some getting used to.

Overall seems like a pretty fun game, and I'm sure that the campaign map will be great. :rockout:
