Whyyyyyy
It states that it fits the 4850 - isn't the 4870 the same layout?

i'm assuming the 4870 isnt mentioned because

A: it doesnt cool well enough

B: it doesnt cool the VRM's/ram well enough

all i need is something a little thinner, that doesnt block crossfire support so i can use my PCI slots.

These coolers are surprisingly good, after seeing them used on OEM solutions giving excellent temps considering how simple they are (no heatpipes, no flower, just a SLAB of alu). Might be because of the high static pressure of that fan.

Wow!!!
This needs to get on newegg ASAP. Finally a good cheap quiet cooler for my card this summer. :rockout:

I like this cooler, it has a very low profile. I wonder too much about the temperatures if fitted into a 4890.

Who the hell would buy a sophisticated cooler for a mid-range card??? What was arctic cooling thinking? Usually people only buy aftermarket coolers for high-end cards.

Some one on a low budget trying to get a higher oc for performance I imagine. Being that its going for 16 dollars it seems pretty smart for a mid range card.

I might want two of them for my 4850X2 :) The stock fan is great, but it's loud and it bugs my parents :( Have to set the fan to auto at night and it gets kinda hot(50C load).

Dude my stock fans scream holy crap. I think that these would be awesome but I dont know im still leaning toward a pair of s1 rev2's

let me know how you go with that... they were my first choice, i figured i can fit a PCI card next to it so long as the fan can blow over the VRM (use a 70mm fan over the VRM, instead of a 120mm fan in the middle), and cut one or two fins to fit the crossfire bridge through.

I'm trying to see if anyone on here is getting rid of some I posted a wtb thread i need to bump. I actually get great temps with my stock coolers on 100% but no one wants that kinda noise. I saw a thread with a guy who modded his for his 9600gt set up and it looked to be pretty easy.

Why do I have a feelign this wont fit on on my 8800GTX. It seems that most that say 8800 mean the GT, or GTS. Why is it the GTX and Ultra were so different?

lol ya. Here in VA we can get humidity pretty bad, heck people in Florida know what I'm talking about too. Our weather forecasts always say in the summer time something like "85, feels like 95" or in the winter with wind chill "30, feels like 10"

Today's high was 92F here D:
It's currently 90F (feels like 90....8% humidity lolz)
About two weeks ago was the last point I was able to keep my computer on at night (and 24/7) without waking up in a pool of sweat and my nuts hanging off my bed.

Also, last time I tried that "7 volt mod" I see on that molex adapter for this fan, my psu just shut off :/

I don't have temp problems like a lot of people seem to have (80C+, god damn people... I topped 72C on my gpu once while running F@H) so I guess I'd only get this if I wanted vrm heatsinks (unless there's a cheaper way to get them)

Right. From Maryland, living in Florida... always thought 'feels like' was silly though, I can tell you what it feels like by going outside!
