The Intel Core i5-3317U is a mobile processor with 2 cores, launched in June 2012. It is part of the Core i5 lineup, using the Ivy Bridge architecture with BGA 1023. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading the core-count is effectively doubled, to 4 threads. Core i5-3317U has 3 MB of L3 cache and operates at 1700 MHz by default, but can boost up to 2.6 GHz, depending on the workload. Intel is making the Core i5-3317U on a 22 nm production node, the transistor count is unknown. The multiplier is locked on Core i5-3317U, which limits its overclocking potential.
