Well my Hiper Type-R died for the second time yesterday night. I was just sitting in bed watching TV when my computer just turns off. I turn it back on to see what is up and it starts to boot then turns off again.
Obviously something is overheating, this is confirmed by the fact that the longer I leave it off the longer it will stay on before turning itself off.
So I boot into the BIOS to watch temps and everything looks normal, then it suddenly turns off again.
I pop it open and instantly feel the heat just coming off my Type-R power supply, so a quick swap out, and sure enough the computer boots up and runs without a problem.
Most people would say, oh well, it happens. However, this is the second time this power supply has died on me out of nowhere(the first time it blew a fuse in my house when it went too).
So no more Hiper power supplies for me, though in it's defence it was pretty heavily loaded, so that is probably what caused it, but I'm not taking any chances.
So what do you guys recommend for my main system(in system specs to the left)?
I was thinking a Thermaltake Toughpower 750w, but am open to other suggestions, it just has to be around $160 and modular.
