I was taking a survey yesterday for AMD and one of the questions was whether or not I thought the "HD" in the name would make it sound too complicated or if it was necessary (I don't remember the exact wording of the question.)
FYI I marked as no, as I think the HD is rather useless and that simply "Radeon 5xxx" would be much simpler and to the point.
Also another question mentioned the name HD 5500 as a "hypothetical" name for a card.
