open up CCC and go to overdrive. scroll down to power and make sure you have it at +20...

your card is being throttled...

It didn't do anything.

Hey guys, I have had a ATI Radeon HD 6950 installed since chirstmas and it was been working completely find, but now for some reason I am getting very bad FPS on many games that I used to be able to play easily. On BF3 I used to get around 100 FPS but now I only get 30. I do not know what could be causing this because I have had no Hardware upgrades at all recently. If you know any way of fixing this please reply. Thanks, NOS.

Comp Specs:

Intel Core i7 CPU 870 @ 2.93GHz
16.0GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6950
1.5 TB HDD
750 Watt Corsair PSU

You evern clean the case and fans of everything inside?

shut down the machine and reseat your video card, ram and reseat all other connections inside the case.

How do I reset all of that stuff?

He means reseat, Take off your video card from the PCI-E slot, and plug it back, that's what he said :)

Then I'm thinking either your video card is broken or the motherboard.

I think the BIOS on my GPU is bad. But I can't find the default BIOS anywhere for my card.

I have tried turning it on and off and it doesn't increase or decrease performance.

leave it off, VSync Locks the Monitor and video card to the maximum refresh rate of 60 Hz

Clocks aren't coming out of 2D mode. It's not VSync. :ohwell:

But the core clocks go to 800 MHz. Does this still mean they aren't coming out of 2D mode?

But the core clocks go to 800 MHz. Does this still mean they aren't coming out of 2D mode?

basically when you start a game the clock speed isnt reaching the intended speed for 3D mode and sticking with the lower clocks of 2D
