You are onto the reason I posted this thread in the first place, but IMHO in the last few months or longer there have been many threads where users were asked many times, their thread gets closed (suprise) and now there's a sh!tstorm in the what's wrong with our forums thread because the guy's thread just above his didn't get shut down at the same time. It's things like that I want to help prevent, as only so much moderation is done in that section, imo it should be pretty minimal overall. TPU asks for a few things to allow users to sell things here, many follow the rules fine, some get excited and post without pics, some just like you said Linkin find a way to screw it up. And issues will still arise even with any of my suggestions in place, which is why I want them talked out between members and staff, see if they're really needed or not...at this point, looking at it from a moderator's point of view, on TPU mods got to tread lightly on certain topics, I see this as something to help them enforce the rules without them having to hold hands and go through each and every thread/post unless it's attention getting or reported. Not saying it's a horrible situation that will end TPU, by far it won't, but it is an annoyance and has been taken out of context many times...if we make a form and/or put up a notice that you must check, then there's no asking, you've been warned, your thread is down, start over, do it right next time or get an infraction. Nuff said, to me it's less effing around with trying to nicely get users to follow the rules, and just flat out getting through the sh!t and getting to the point. But like you say Linkin, if they dont' like it, try out Ebay for sure.

Yeah, if we do have the ability to do both selection 1 & 2, then we would have s sure fire way to get it all done.. It just all depends on how we can build it.. There does, IMHO, need to be something done to help mods, not pull their hair, and for us to do it right the first time..

The other thing that we have to look at is, What will happen if someone wants to, add, or what to their OP.. Will we have the same thing done at the end of the save, or what??

honestly...

why do we let FS threads get more than a few pages?

by the 3rd page everything should be gone.

look at how XS used to do it before they closed,

no bumping at all.... no replys other than seller... by time you made 3 posts in that thread the item is gone.

That's actually a good point, I hate sorting through pages. I don't mind the bumping necessarily, but don't view it as required either.

A bump is fine but dayum!!!

i've seen threads that were started in like july of 07 and have been bumped and edited 600+ times. its kinda crazy.

i been listing things separately lately because no one was looking at my thread unless i had the item in the title.

I like how it is now, just needs more order. A form system would be cool, but I think that would be kind of hard to do. Maybe just port the forms the case gallery uses over and have the pics uploaded that way!

Yeah, I usually only look at the title, then click on it if it catches my eye.. Now, if it's a name, like fits and Cdawall, because it's all ways going to have something different...

The issue with forms is you STILL don't kill everything. How's the form gonna know if you posted a picture with the piece of paper on it? You still have a mod that has to close the thread for rules violation. Shoot, you could post a picture of mickey fricken mouse just to get the thread up.

Yep and I mentioned that in the description of Solution 1. The fact of the matter is people will have to be jackasses about it, easy enough...if you see it before a mod, REPORT IT!

Not hard, not complicated, not even a big deal..but it can be very helpful to the modding staff. If they want to play games with a system that is simple to use, understand, and keeps things cleaned up, then maybe another forum is the way to go...know what I mean? IMO, if people were to do that out of spite, then infractions and banning won't be far behind and they are probably causing problems elsewhere in the forums, or will just repeatedly do the same thing till ban.

What would you do to alleviate that issue? How can things be improved so fewer issues and gripes arise? That's what this thread is for! I know you have some ideas, let's hear em! I KNOW there are better ideas than what I suggested out there, and some great ones have already come up!

Well repsonse to this kind of dropped off sharply a few days ago...I am hoping to see a few more post your views, suggestions, vote on the poll and give us your opinion. This thread doesn't necessarily mean anything will change or needs changed, but it should definately be considered that in the future something could happen in the form of an idea brought up here or from a similar thread in the future. Thanks to everyone who has participated thus far, and the poll closes 4/13.
