    Too bad I can't order one :( Well, I could, but I shouldn't....

    $495 shipped for the 955, MSI GD70, and an OCZ 2x2GB DDR3-1333 6-6-6-20 1.75v memory kit. Must...resist...

    If I went with the GA-MA790XT-UD4P I'd save $40, plus a $15 rebate...

The gigabyte is only a 790X board. But I don't need a bajillion PCIe lanes, only using a single card. Or I could just get a cheaper AM2+ board for it and use my current 4GB DDR2 kit for now haha.

    Hmmmmm......

Anyone wanna buy some used hardware from me? I got 8800GS cards, some Athlon 64s, a vintage Barton 2500+ that does 400MHz FSB to hit 3200+ speeds easy... :p

I don't know if this chip has a DDR2 controller in it.

    955 has a DDR2 controller, all of the AM3 CPU's do.

All AM3 chips have both (unless something changed). But a quick glance at AM2+ boards makes me say screw it just get the right board if I do it. Do it right the 1st time.
