Wondering if other people can give me their FPS results. Go to Dragonsreach, turn around and look out the Archway at Whiterun. Settings don't matter, I'm just curious if it's everyone seeing a massive FPS hit or just me. Even low settings that cuts me down 25 fps, then I start running through the town and my FPS goes back up.

yeah it doesnt look horrible on the console, i havent had my game crash once and havent encoutnered bugs but ive added better textures, better shaders, high res items, high res armor, high res clothes, and when i see the console versoin it looks like absolute crap to me, now if thats what you feel is good, you have the right to that opinion, but im sorry it is in no way better. and and high res dragon textuires, high res skin textures, better eyes, better clouds, better water, High res ground textures, OH MAN so beatifull.

You had to *add* those things.

Dont forget about draw distance where you can see farther then 40 feet in front of you, High res mountain! so beatifull...

I can see other towns and everything when I climb mountains, clearly you have no idea what you are talking about when you mention '40 feet' draw distance.

yeah but your right the console does look bettter (sarcasm)

I never said the console looks better. Don't twist people's words.

my archery is 81 and my sneak 93,and i'm not sure what exactly you're referring to now. to be honest i think i totally confused the situation as ai being dumb has more to do with high sneak than archery.

I thought your AI problem was related to sneaking too.

I always get caught. Even after casting muffle, and taking down torches. After I fire one shot, they run right over to me. The AI is glorious for me. They work to surround me, and they try to get behind me even as I step next to other things in an attempt to hit them all with a shout.

The mages never chase after me if they have the high ground, summoners never stray far from their pets. Sometimes they even retreat, and they come back with more people and a little more health. I can kite them through traps, but if the rest of them see it happen they won't walk over to me afterwards. When archers get cornered they pull out a melee weapon to try to stave me off.

The AI is good for me.

Im finding that some Dragons died easier than others, i dont know if its just a placebo effect or if some are actually more difficult than others.

@ BP about decapitiations

its an action kill shot and requires a perk to make it possible

example 2 handed swords gets a perk later on that gives the chance of decapitation its essentially a 3rd or 4th potential kill blow so you get them more often,

well then, i must be insane. obviously if they catch you it means the system is great, and no one could possibly experience it otherwise. right?

I can have them running around in front of me, staring at me, while i am shooting them, and they can't see me. not all the time mind you, but most definitely 70% or more.

there are. there are plain dragons, which are weak, then frost/fire, and then blood, and then elder. there may be more, idk.

I get the exact same thing. From 50-60 to the 20's.

EDIT: All I could find out about this small 18mb skyrim patch is the hearsay that it is about not launching without steam and suh, no changes or fixes to the game itself. Consider this an unconfirmed assertion.

Hmm, well it's no surprise that it broke the LAA if it over-wrote the .exe, but that just means you have to make it LAA again.

The angle of grass and hue of bark seem pretty trivial, compared to all the other things that need fixed.

Nope, the LAA patch applied to the 1.2 Launcher doesn't work. There is a DL for the 1.1 launcher now up on SkyrimNexus, though I'm going to just try the LAA fix thats been posted on TPU.

**EDIT**
Seems the TPU way mentioned before is the same way, guess going back to 1.1 launcher.

They probably have various teams/people working on different fixes and these were just the first to be completed. I would rather have many small patches than a giant one that buries my crap internet connection for days. lol

uh why are you people using the skyrim nexus to make the game LAA

we have a god damn tool on TPU that makes TESV.exe LAA and you can run it whenever works everytime.. herp derp man people dont ever pay attention around here

http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112556

use the above tool find TESV.exe select it make it LAA and done

no reason to make the launcher laa aware as it has no effect on the game just the TESV exe needs it, and it works .... dont know why anyone uses other methods when the above tool works every time. with a single click.

+1 Crazy ... and don't forget to thank Ford for his excellent work if you have not done so already.
He puts a lot of time and effort into all the tools he creates and we want to make sure he feels appreciated so he keeps making them. :)

thanks for the reminder Kreij i knew i forgot to do something the other day.. lolz

seems others are having issues with the tool and making the game LAA aware...

surprisingly im having no issues right now everything works fine with LAA, granted im running from the exe by itself as admin,

im bypassing steam and the launcher to do it. eitherway. dosent matter much. altho without LAA it means the ugrids tweak will now result in instant crashing for people using it... gotta love Bethesda lolz.

nvm... steam downloaded some tiny little 6mb file, and now LAA dosent work my guess is it didnt fully download the patch and just now finished it. games borked for me now, even trying to load my game with my current ini and pref ini settings causes instant crash. really wish bethesda's coders were how should we say better at there job.

games should be LAA aware now by default,

For anyone who patched and needs LAA. Download this and replace your tesv.exe with the tesv 11.11 exe, and LAA will work again.

yea that works. still kinda retarded game should be LAA aware at this point by default i mean god damn LAA helped stabilize Oblivion 5 years ago, in 2006 here we are nearly 2012 and LAA still isnt on be default, when most gamers are running 64bit OS's

use the above tool find TESV.exe select it make it LAA and done

no reason to make the launcher laa aware as it has no effect on the game just the TESV exe needs it, and it works .... dont know why anyone uses other methods when the above tool works every time. with a single click.
Yeah, that's what I used. Unfortunately, my game kept crashing afterwards, so I just ran the app again and undid it.

my game wont run period without LAA enabled

do to the large number of tweaks the game needs more then 2gb of data allocated.

example

Skyrim might only use 1200mb of ram but the allocated ram amount is around 1950mb, at which point it tends to crash, with LAA thats avoided, well with my tweaks and settings my game cant even finish loading a save file period without crashing nor can i start a new game,

ive resorted to using the older EXE with LAA patch and everythings fine and dandy.

in the skyrim preferences ini in your my games folder in your documents, look for the above 3 settings change them to 4096 make sure your running Ultra Preset, and max the advanced tabs first THEN make the above changes.

I've done all that and sadly that has not fixed it :(

Also I've managed to make all objects on loading screen and main menu to turn red but have also managed to fix it, not sure what caused it though.

What the hell is LAA?

Large Address Aware allows the game to use 4GB and up.
