What is the .ini entry for controller analog sensitivity?

On the performance front, I followed the guide for the most part :

  1. Texture Quality (Ultra)
  2. Anisotropic Filtering (16x)
  3. Anti-Aliasing (TAA)
  4. Shadow Distance (High)
  5. Shadow Quality (High)
  6. God Rays Quality (Low)
  7. Object Fade (50%) [using 75%]
  8. Distant Object Detail (High)
  9. Actor Fade (50%) [using 75%]
  10. Item Fade (50%) [using 75%]
  11. Grass Fade (50-75%) [using 75%]
  12. Wetness (On)
  13. Ambient Occlusion (On)
  14. Screen Space Reflections (On)
  15. Lens Flare (On)
  16. Depth of Field (Standard)
  17. Object Detail Fade (any)
  18. Lighting Quality (Medium)
  19. Rain Occlusion (On)
  20. Decal Quantity (High)

Set profile in CCC and forced Tessellation to 8x (not sure what level AMD optimized is for Gameworks engine, though suspect it's higher than 8x).

However while despite getting consistent 60fps, and a consistent 16.6ms frame latency, the game still felt slightly uneasy when panning the camera. It juddered much like when your frame latency is bouncing around.
After changing TAA back to FXAA, that stopped.

I also found that with the above setting (sans the TAA), I can average 85-96fps. And yes 96fps/96hz feels great, but surprisingly, 60fps/60hz without TAA feels almost just as good.

That's a victory as far as I am concerned - for now, until mods come out and crush performance even more.
Here's hoping for a texture mod, and some flora replacements. The game is using less than 1500mb of GPU RAM, that's underwhelming.

EDIT: Even deserted towns (plus some weather effects) take it's toll. I'm averaging around 45-50fps. With no ENB running, and any texture mods applied, the performance is definitely underwhelming.

this game is hard

These games are always hard in the beginning, eventually you will be a walking god.

So I really like the power armor, when I run into tough situations... I just go grab that and my mini gun and just go F them up if needed.

Also, each workshop is its own storage. They are not one large collective storage, unfortunately.

Base in progress, still looks odd since it doesn't 'appear' to have support.

Nice view :) Did you use gates to make the windows?

Has anyone figured out how the gun repair system works (I'm slow at crafting etc...) Do guns degrade like FO3 and NV? Is it worth hoarding more guns of the same type to use for repairs or do we repair using raw materials? Have we to be on a workbench to repair or is there some way to do it through the pipboy (In FO3 you hit the letter R and repaired whenever you were).

Yeah I believe they are labeled as railings. If you look under wooden structures, and go to misc I believe. They are under that category.

If each workshop is it's own storage, then can you not put all your junk in a more universal type location/hold and it still applies as materials for the workshop?

Wait a sec... isn't the storage in common with all workshops in the game-world? In that if I have something in Sanctuary and I open the Red Rocket storage I should still access it?

..

That was my understanding - unless I misread the help tips about the Workshop.

Finally decided to disable Crossfire, and wouldn't you know, single card performance is the same. ;sigh;

============

UGH I was meant to do something in FFXIV ARR today, been tinkering too much in Fallout.

Idk, I didn't see the durability stat. I think weapon and armor can't degrade. Power Armor could degrade though. I'm repairing Power Armor with only steel and some others.
Currently I scrap every weapons and armors into raw materials such as steel, leather, screw, etc.

Just tried it, No. My workshop in Sanctuary has different items than in Red Rocket.

Same, each workshop is its own individual storage... So you need to be dropping off your junk to that workshop storage, if you want those materials in that specific settlement. It should be for all the workshops... but then again, I guess that prevents getting to carried away at a single settlement.

Should I be spending heaps of time then at the gas station or should I just move on, find another better workshop location and move my stuff over there?

why did you choose Red Rocket over Sanctuary? Sanctuary is higher ground, large building area and surrounded by water with only 2 bridges you need to worry about.

Choice wasn't a factor. I've only realized you could build at Sanctuary, after watching a video on some crafting how-tos.

Now to move all my stuff across.

On the performance front, AFR is definitely the way to go for Crossfire. Otherwise, you might as well stick to one card.

At 1440p holding 96fps/96hz is difficult - maybe time to invest in a Freesync monitor.
At 1800p (3200x1800), the game holds 60fps/60hz and 16.6ms but has some odd occasional judder - looks like something to do with the combination of the game's vsync and frame capping.

if you just want to move things. try storing items instead of scrapping. it will save you resources when rebuilding.

each workshop is it's own storage until you unlock the perk Local Leader then they all become connected.

it's a little confusing at first. this website will help you understand how it all works. as you start dumping points into an attribute it will begin unlocking perks down below. each time you level up in the game you can select one of those perks highlighted in blue or put a point into the attribute.

http://www.nukahub.com/tools/special

I don't believe there is anyway to see what perks are in each category when the vault-tec guy comes to the door so you kinda have to pre-plan your character, right? not a fan of this system but I have been assured that you become so powerful in this game it doesn't really matter in the end lol

one more thing

there is a perk in the game called Lady Killer

Women now suffer +15% damage in combat, and are much easier to persuade in dialogue. They are now even easier to pacify with the Intimidation perk. (Requires: Level 16)

if you make a FEMALE CHARACTER the perk will be called Man Hunter and it changes to Men now suffer +15%

this PERK is more important to Female characters because there are more men in the wasteland than women.

hopefully this saves someone from wasting a perk.

here is my list of MUST HAVE PERKS if anybody is curious.

Armorer, Toughness, Lifegiver, Locksmith, Wasteland Whisperer, Intimidation, Local Leader, Medic, Hacker, Action Boy, Scrounger, Grim Reaper's Sprint and Four Leaf Clover are all MUST HAVE PERKS. the rest are "okay" or "low priority"

Super Mutants be like yo, Omar comin y'all :p

Same lol! I didn't understand how the points worked at first. Luckily I didnt butcher it to bad and am on the right track for the right perks, although a bit behind, so its making combat a bit tougher than usual. However, I have found some badass hunting rifles that have kept me very satisfied so far. Bolt action rifles FTW.

Honestly, I have decided to focus on a few places to be my 'main settlements'

Sanctuary, Red Rocket Gas station, and Starlight diner... these are where I focus the recruitment and building of the settlements. I will post some screenshots, its actually really cool what I have so far, basically in each of the 3 settlements I listed I have some sort of a mega tower bunker set up :pimp: Complete with decorations, power, and TV

The best way to transfer items between settlements is most likely going to be to use your power armor (for extra carry weight) and transfer whatever your able to at a a time, unfortunately if you have a lot of Steel or Wood it might take a few trips.

So while I have my 3 main bunkers set up, I have some side settlements for farming, and I have linked those smaller farming settlements with my main ones so there is more food all around etc. You can tell because the happiness meter goes up when you start setting up supply lines.

Only 1 of my settlements has been attacked so far, it was by a wave or 2 of super mutants.

Heres some pics:

here are a few tips: Avoid the Pillars of the Community people. I wish I had.
Before the Castle mission get ready for an epic battle. I tried it 3 times and failed. Now I'm about to go to youtube and see if there is an easier way.

So far I like it. Only have a base in sanctuary.

On a positivity bender here.

Those currently playing the game, what do you think the first "regular" content patch from Bethesda will entail? It sounds like there's a heck of a lot of building going on, but the more important question is what you think Bethesda will add to make things easier/better.

What level are you? I am working my way towards that mission... did you use your power armor? Thats my go to in tough situations ;D

Haven't put a ton of thought to the question, but already using the workshop function quite a bit, I think it just needs some refinement.

-Maybe the option to pause the game and go into a NoClip mode to work on your settlement ?

-Option to scrap junk within a defined area, it takes way to much individual clicking to scrap imo.

-Feature to link together workshop storage if you choose to do so. I find myself constantly not having certain specific items to make things I need and have to fast travel between settlements to find what I need.

-Making all the settlers AI completely automatic. Its a bit annoying to have to assign settlers to crops / beds / watch posts etc... They do have some automatic function, but not completely. Would just be nice to see a more simplistic system, perhaps you can just assign a settler to a house, and it will automatically assign them to that bed and crops near that house. Or something.

So I finished the main story line with the minutemen as my faction. Pretty sad but not spoiling anything
