Looking for a Xeon E5500 series or X5500 series and Asus P6T6 or P6T7 motherboard.
I missed that deal on newegg for $307 for P6T7 and $240 for P6T6 (open box).. now I have to wait who knows how long to get a good deal again :)
Also looking for a Antec Skeleton case (this must be located within Canada,it's too heavy to ship from US).

im tellin you....

they dont support the e55 or x55 chips man.

theres no advantage to run those chips unless you have a dual socket mobo.

i would help you but my kid will be born soon and i fear that i wont have the time to dedicate to getting your stuff sent out in a timely manner.

someone else here may very well step up and assist.

I'm considering buying one Xeon E5520/E5530/E5540 to overclock it/them on P6T6 / P6T7
I really hate i7 for its 130W TDP :)

ok but at this point...

a p55 with i7 860 will blow all them chips away...

and cost less in the long run

and are super easy to find mobo's and cpus.

The x3440 is the least expensive one that has HT. I also picked up a DFI DK p55, with a Lotes socket. ;)

It's pretty cheap (I've payed $220 CAD shipped), and works nice. Not the greatest server board out there but it does its job well and its best value for the price, in my opinion.
It works nice with both Xeons L5508 and L5520 that I already have.. too bad I can't do overclocking :)

Now I need a desktop board, so I can overclock the CPU a bit :)

my GB/i5 750 is kicking in at stock and is BLAZING fast for my main rig. im loving it.

just need another kit of these ocz plats in 2x2gb 2000mhz fashion.

These Xeons X3400 aren't bad at all.. I am almost switching to 1156 socket :)
Need to read a bit more reviews first, to see what's the deal with them.

i love it.

i almost sold my x58 to get another p55

i7 860 outperforms i7 920 in most tests

i7 870 kills the i7 920 and can almost hang with the i7 950

Whats the long term outlook of 1156 though? Will socket 1156 get 6 core CPUs in the near future?

Then I will stick to 1366.. I don't want to change the motherboards in a couple of months..
Plus that I have some 2GB and 4GB DDR3 ECC/Reg memories coming in next week, and I'm not sure if they work with P55 boards..
