cool well im not home for about 8 hours yet, how about we run

3dmark 06' @ 1920x1080 everything else normal, then again with 4xAA (standard AA quality)

however just run the game tests, then use the 3dmark 06' score calc to get a score, using 5600 as a cpu score (is pretty much bang on what a Q6600 @ 3.6ghz gets) so we can compare results.

hows that sound?

whatever OC suits your benching needs, ill be benching at 800/2000/2500, just make sure you post all relevant info in the post so we know how to compare.

you can grab the score calculator from here

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=102058

it works flawlessly :D always gives a correct score.

EDIT: cool.

All right. I have it and going to do the benching... The card has a limit of 772/1050/1914. But, I will make sure that the GPU-Z's are up to show them.

Off to bench :toast:

Update:

All right, I've done the benches. Both at normal, and with 4AA. The only problem I had was when I was doing the 4AA run, I had to underclock my video card to 749/1050/1857... So, I ran the bench again with no AA at those clocks... Here's what I got with also the Orb tag so you know I wasn't screen shooting what I wanted

TPU Bench 1

With 4AA

TPU Bench 4AA

There you have it man. Wolf, I hope you like what you see.

Sorry for how long it took.. Watching my team win its Trophy!

wow they're some nice scores dude! it'll be interesting to see how a 9800GTX compares, especially with the new and improved drivers.

this will give me a good idea as to whether i want a GX2, or another 9800GTX or neither :p

EDIT: oh and we have to keep in mind ill be benching on XP32, so i think i'm prone to an ever so slightly higher score.

That is true too... but, i didn't turn off the sli... do you need that turned off, or leave it as is??

After getting the new drivers, both the 177.26 and .34... I'm thinking after going water, and when the price goes down, grabbing another card... I'm happier with this card now with the new drivers.. :rockout:

Didn't you say once it dropped under $499 you would get another?

both are pretty useless. you already have a gx2, and you already have a q6700.
you already have a rediculous amount of power... :p

I was going to tell you that I seen an EVGA GX2 on newegg tonight for $425 and I thought I remembered you saying in another thread that $499 was the magic number.
And to be honest I want to see what your new benches would be with that beast.
Edit: I like run-on sentences.

ok here are my benchies, but a few thoughts first

I was only able to bench at 1920x1200....1920x1080 just wasnt a choice at all.....

when you have a faster CPU, the cpu score is not the only thing affected, this also slightly increases SM2 and SM3 scores.

with that said, i think the fact that i benched at a slightly higher res, and you benched with a slightly slower cpu, the scores should balance out.

Q6600 @ 3591mhz (note old cpu-z reads as 6x multiplier thus 2394mhz, but it is 3591)
9800GTX @ 800/2000/2500
DDR2 @ 798mhz

1920x1200

http://www.techpowerup.org/uploaded.php?file=080618/9800GTX_177.35_06_AA.jpg

i totally trust you with the scores anyway, and since i don't have an ORB validation i hope you do me the same courtesy

interesting results, it seems at 1920x1200 there is roughly a 50% gain to be had from card #2......

sure the scaling isn't perfect but its one benchmark out of many many 3d apps....and hec, to a diehard like me, id pay double price for only 150% performance :D

EDIT: and as for your next upgrade, i reckon don't go for quad SLi unless you want to be the king of superfluity, or just the e-peen, its so not worth the gains, at that point you may aswell go for a GTX260/280 and race them.

i can understand you want more power, and are willing to throw money at the comp, but you can totally do that in areas that will give you waaaay more value for money, unless your also after a heater :D

I haven't found a thing yet to make me not trust you on your benches or word. :toast:
That did see pretty good with all that going on!!

As for my upgrade... I'm just going to go water. Its still going to be a feet to do, and so forth, so I'm happy with that.. I'm not working for a e-p3nis but just some type of challenge.

off to work! :toast:

the difference in these graphs in nuts

http://img.techpowerup.org/080618/driver.jpg

You are right there. I can't believe the difference that these drivers make! I did a Ccleaner of my drivers last night and saw those differences myself. For some reason the cards all ready have the 174 drivers... But, with doing the Ccleaner on drivers, I was able to get but 9 points shy of my orginal Vantage score.. So, I'm happy to see this now!! :toast:

you can get it at download.com Or I believe that TPU has it in their download section... I got my 500 points back in Vantage, and I made my best 3dmark run after doing it all... I love Ccleaner because of the fact it takes out all the hidden files that was relating to the program itself. Then has a kick A$$ reg. cleaner

Im at work, or I'd just hand ya the file myself! lol

The bad thing with most drivers if you use Windows to uninstall it, they don't get the whole driver deleted... Because there is all ways hidden files that are added to the driver or program to allow it to work hadn and hand with windows... You can all ways enable the hidden files and go threw there to delete them yourself, but I've found Ccleaner to also delete those hiddden pains!

177.35

Test 1: 188.64

Test 2: 130.02

Test 3: 238.86

Test 4: 131.99

My Oblivion test showed no change in framerates, which leads me to believe that DMC4 is using PhysX.

So... my theory is that while some people are seeing ~20% increase with single GPU's, I'm getting somewhere around 50% (or is it 100%?) on my GX2 because of the 2 PhysX processors. Makes me want the single GPU, single PhysX processor, 280 GTX even less now.

I'll run a test with Mass Effect, another PhysX enabled game, later today.

Done nothing. Just uninstalled 174.74, used that ccleaner thing, then installed 177.35.

174.74

177.35

nuthin happened lol.

The new cards are most likely going to see the gains that are crazy while the older cards won't be.. I only gota 100 or so more in 3dmark06 and Vantage.. It was my jump from 174 to 176 that I really saw the difference.
