don't use ATI Overdrive ... amd gpu clock tool should work if u clock it past 880.... make sure u exit ati tool first..

Ya I used that and got it up to 940/1150 stable, wish I could bring the ram up more....
But I have gotten 3dmark06 up to 5698 so its getting quick.

Seems you and I are having simular results and issues, perhaps?

I was finaly able to get AMD GPU Clock Tool working again by downloading a fresh copy and setting it to windows 2000 compatibility mode upon initial startup. Anyhow, it exhibited the same bug that most others explained while the core was set anywhere between 857MHz to roughly 875MHz. After some playing around, I then experienced the same bug with the core clock set anywhere between 890MHz to 900MHz. Setting the core clock above 900MHz resulted in normal operation once again.

I think I was finaly able to hit roughly 930MHz on the core with AMD GPU Clock Tool and stopped there as I finaly had enough of all the rebooting that I was having to do because of various glitches from either the issue with the video card BIOS and/or AMD GPU Clock Tool. I was not able to OC the memory at all. Adding or subtracting even 1MHz to the memory clocks would result in an eventual loss of display signal and a necissary reboot. :wtf:

So, in my opinion, there still seems like quite a bit of work needs to be done in order for HD2600XT owners to fully appriciate and overclock their video cards! :ohwell:

By the way, what's the maximum clocks you people can get for the 2600 XT? I've been looking at a Sapphire 2600 XT Ultimate (GDDR4, doesn't cost much extra here) lately, does the GDDR4 version overclock much more than the GDDR3 one? Been thinking of getting a new GPU in about 3-5 months, and the 2600 XT seems to be a likely contestant, unless there comes the HD 2650 -series or something. Or, I could spend a bit more extra on a new PSU and a Radeon 2950 -series card, but we'll see...

The Sapphire one seems to be clocked at 800mhz core/1.4ghz memory, is that true? Could you get it up to near 900mhz/2.0ghz with the stock cooling of the brand? Has anyone got experience about this? :)

Sapphire DDR3 has 1.4Ghz mem, DDR4 2.2Ghz. However, ram quality is like a lottery, hence the RAM OC results can vary a lot. GPU should clock to 900-910Mhz.

a 2450 and 2650 are coming.... it'll have dx10.1 and 55mm die...

i can only get my 2 2600xt ddr4 to 884/1175... not sure why its unstable past that.

Thats "RATED".... Its the same as the rest... 700 GDDR3, 1100 GDDR4

Gotta love marketing....

The fastest stock clocked cards are the MSI GDDR4's 850/1150
*Sapphire rated 850/2.3ghz*

Here we go... Sorry I deleted the screen shot before I posted... So here is the link to my report-

http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=656990
5777 3dmark06
950/1150 :)

I can get my card to 960/1150 and not go crazy but when I bench the machine locks up.
9th fastest 2600xt GDDR4 :)

What I should really do, is a clean boot without junk running in the back ground, tweak up my ram and processor and see what kinda score I get.

on the 2600xt ddr4 cards, when u overclock the memory it seems to slow down....

Eh when I slow mine to 1100 from 1150 I lose about 20 points average over 5 runs.

it happens to everyone
you need to jump the core clock straight to 880/890/900
