Just a question: i got an old pc with 2 9800 gt with SLI all is working on w7 with old criver and hyperSLI tool.

Is you above method working also on windows 8 with these cards? the version you included in the instruction ( if i m not wrong 356 driver) does not install on that system warning that no adware is present.

Latest driver available for them is 341.44

Is this latest patch for HyperSLI working also with old drivers?

If your running hypersli, it in general will not work with differentsli, re-run the hypersli installer and uninstall hypersli, I don't have a windows 8 or 8.1 system, so I can't actually test if the patched driver
will run on those operating systems or not, I would think it would as long as the operating systems are 64 bit, I went and actually looked on nvidias' site because I was getting confused as to what
your were saying, it turns out that nvidia has not updated the drivers for older video boards, all I can do is upload older versions of differentsli and hope one of them works:

Here's some updated instructions for those running older drivers and older versions of differentsli

1. Uninstall hypersli if it's installed, then reboot your pc.

2. Download 1 (or both) older versions of differentsli, I recommend unpacking each version in it's own folder. See above post for links.

3. Download the latest (???) driver (341.44) for these instructions.

4. using winrar (rarlabs.com), extract (do NOT run the setup yet) to a folder called nvidia for example.

5. Assuming your driver folder is called nvidia, go to C:\nvidia\Display.Driver

6. In this folder find the file 'nvlddmkm.sy_' (That's not a typo).

7. copy this file to where you unpacked one of the older versions of differentsli (1.1 or 1.2).

8. Hold down the left-shift key in the open differentsli folder (make sure you don't have any files selected) and right-click, select 'open command window here'. make sure it's a administrator prompt.

9. Type the following command: 'expand nvlddmkm.sy_ nvlddmkm.sys'

10. you should now have a file named 'nvlddmkm.sys' run the patching executable to see if it will patch it successfully, if it does, then go back to where you extracted the driver installer and run the setup.exe normally.

11. when the normal driver installation is done, go back to where your older differentsli folder is that has the older patched nvlddmkm.sys and run the install.cmd, (if that is missing from one of my older differentsli uploads, copy the
install.cmd from 1.3 it will still work).

12. reboot your pc and see if you can activate sli mode.

NOTE: do NOT try to use my patched nvlddmkm35306 file with these older drivers (or any other driver that isn't 64-bit 353.06), use only your patched driver from 341.44.

Unfortunately i was not able to let it work so i was obliged (but is not so worse) to install 320.18 and use the 320.18 modded driver after the regular installation. Now SLI is correctly working on windows 8.1 x64. If you need any further test let me now.

This is for windows 7, 8, 8.1 64 bit only.

Driver version 353.30

Note that older versions of 64 bit windows may work, but don't hold me to it.
This goes as far back as the original 64-bit version of windows xp.

This driver will not work with any 32-bit versions of windows, and possibly may not properly
support very old video boards.

Hi, I realize I am posting on an old message here, but I wanted to thank you for your patched driver.
I also have a Crossfire mobo but have two 780ti boards which just wouldn't do SLI.
Using DifferentSLI I was unable to get it working (although it seemed to run just fine) with 353.06 drivers.
So I used your 352.86 driver and allowed it to get signed and installed with install.cmd and it worked fine.
I see that you have 353.06 drivers up now, thank you I will try those now too.

However, can I ask what it is that you do to make your patched drivers? Do you do something different that just run DifferentSLI according to the instructions?

The current latest driver is 353.30, I'm just providing a patched driver for those that have issues running the patching program themselves, I've looked at the source code for the patching program
and I have a general idea of how it works, but eventually the patcher code will have to be updated for newer drivers as they are released, the person currently doing the maintenance is
Embervulpix, but if he ever has to stop for some reason, I wouldn't mind trying to take over the maintenance, but he would have to show me how I would go about determining what it is in the
new driver that needs to be changed and how to find that code in the new driver, Offhand I would have to disassemble the driver at the opcode level and then while going through the code,
determine what needs to be changed and where, and then make those changes in the new patcher, but he would have to show me himself on some of these things.

Please note that this driver might or might not make any difference on your system, I tried
this driver on my system with arkham knight, and it made no difference, others on the
steam forums stated it made a big difference, also when I rebooted after the installation,
the reboot seemed a little off to me, scanning my system with 3 different scanners
came back clean, if you try these, and it doesn't work, you can always go back to 353.30
drivers.

I've been running all kinds of games on my system with that driver and had no issues. How exactly did you run differentsli? did you follow the instructions as stated? Or did you download my
already patched driver and run the install.cmd, and if so, did it give any errors during installation? 2 550ti video boards should work fine with this, I'm running 2 560's in my system.

I checked the specs for your motherboard and it does support crossfire, make sure you don't have to set this option to on either in your bios or possibly a switch on your motherboard, and is there a sli
bridge installed between the 2 boards. If there isn't you need to install it. You could also try running on just 1 board temporarily to see if it still crashes then.
Also, make sure you have a recent version of directx installed.

Other possibilities would include a bad video board (not likely though), a sli bridge cable that is loose, you could also try to run the other misc. installers that are in the game folders, this would include
directx install, net installer, etc.

You didn't specify what operating system your running, these drivers are meant for
windows 7, 8, & 8.1 64 bit, other 64 bit operating may work, but I can't vouch for any of the
other ones.

Thanks for the info, if your games run ok on 1 board, then in my opinion that leaves 3 possibilities, a bad board, a board that isn't seated properly in the pci slot, a bad/improperly seated sli bridge. Ultimately, you can go back
to the last known good driver, if that fixes everything with both boards running, then that would suggest that there is something wrong with the patched drivers, but as far as I know, your the first one to have this problem.
(that I can recall at the moment).
