I'm assuming these are steam games, if so, run a cache check on the games, or uninstall and reinstall the games. If that doesn't work, then I'm stumped at the moment.

Your welcome!

Hi,
can you help me here.
I installed diffrentSLi 1.3 with the diver provided here, everything works and I have SLI, tested Witcher 3 and its actually much slower now with SLI enabled.

My main GTX970 runs on PCIE v3.0 x8 and the second one at PCIE v2.0 x4, the mobbo supports crossfire but not sli, its gigabyte H97.
I have no problem buying a new mobo, but im waiting for Skylake processors and 100-series chipsets that supposed to be released in August so no point getting one now.

As far as I know, the default sli profile is bad for this game. Go here:

http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/nvidia-inspector-download.html

and download the latest version of nvidia inspector.

Then go here:

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1915486

and follow the instructions to change the compatibility bits for this game.

If you have sli functionality, the driver is doing what it's supposed to do...

Thats for Witcher 2, i have 3.
I tested another game (The Vanishing of Ethan Carter) and it had no gain in SLI,

Try 0x0A0040F5 in the dx11 field

here's another one to try:

0x081902F5 in the same field.

Usually when a game has bad performance in sli mode, either the game itself doesn't support that mode (batman arkham knight for me at the moment),
or the wrong sli compatibility bit is in the profile.

To Viruzz

Here's 2 more bits to try, if these don't work, you'll have to contact the developer of the game for official support.

  1. 0x0A0040F5
  2. 0x080000F5

Update - I bought witcher 3 to try and figure out a sli combination that will work, so far,
no luck, this game might have the same problem as batman AK, it just doesn't support
sli, it that's the case, no combination of bits will work.

Hey there I have brought a new motherboard and another gpu to sli but didn't realize my mobo didn't sli. I saw this post about hyper sli and how people said it worked. I am on windows 8 and have installed hyper sli 9.7 and installed the driver 310.70 for my cards. I have connected them with the bridge and installed hyper sli and followed the steps. It then said that sli was available but when I went into nvidia control panel it didn't say anything about sli. I was wondering if anyone could help me get my cards in sli properly as I'm a bit of a noob with gpu's.

See my instructions here:
-------------------------------
Read through all my instructions first before starting!

Your running much older hardware, skip down to the last section and start there, look
for the line of dashes.

*****If you have hypersli installed, run the hypersli installer and uninstall it and reboot your computer before proceeding!******

1. Go to http://www.geforce.com/drivers, select your operating system and video board in the list, download the driver installer.

2. Download my patched nvlddmkm35330.rar file here:

http://www.gamefront.com/files/25077330/nvlddmkm3

This patched driver is only for nvidia driver 353.30.

*** NOTE *** always check back here on these forums for the current release version,
I will have the current version in the filename and when it was uploaded on any new
posts here. Also this driver is for 64 bit operating systems only! (windows 7 - windows 8.1
generally, this driver isn't for windows 10).

3. Go to https://github.com/EmberVulpix/DifferentSLIAuto/releases and download the 1.3 release file.

4. Unpack differentsli into a folder of your choice.

5. Unpack my patched nvlddmkm35330.rar file into the same folder where you put differentsli.

6. Install nvidia's official drivers (353.30).

7. Go back to where differentsli is installed, you might need to pause your anti-virus program too.

8. Open a command prompt (administrator version) and run the Install.cmd, it should say it was successful, if it says there was a problem, don't continue, post here as to what the error was. Unpause your anti-virus program.

9. Reboot your computer, once it's back up, go to your nvidia control panel and activate sli mode.

Please note, this patched driver is only for systems that don't otherwise support sli, my system only officially supports crossfire for example, but I'm running nvidia boards, not ati, so I have to install
my patched driver.

The only other reason to use this patched driver is if you want to mix different model nvidia video boards and still have sli mode to some degree. Please note the video bd has to
be 'new' enough to support sli, nearly every nvidia board made in the last 10 years should
be able to handle sli mode, a dead give away is if the bd in question has a sli bridge
connector on it.

Very important! make sure that the nvidia driver your downloading and the patched driver
your downloading matches in the version numbers, I'll always put for what version my
patched driver file is for in the download link, don't get them mixed up...

I hope my explanation helps.

Have fun!

You didn't say in your specs what operating system your running, it has to be 64-bit and
has to be one of the following:

Windows 7 64 bit
Windows 8 64 bit
Windows 8.1 64 bit

This driver probably won't work on windows 10, (don't have windows 10, so don't know that for sure, I wouldn't count on that though). If your running anything older then windows 7
or anything that's 32-bit, this driver probably won't work.

-------------------------------------------------------------

The above instructions make a few assumptions about a few things, If you can't get the
latest drivers due to lack of support from nvidia, follow these instructions:

Here's some updated instructions for those running older drivers and older versions of differentsli

1. Uninstall hypersli if it's installed, then reboot your pc.

2. Download 1 (or both) older versions of differentsli, I recommend unpacking each version in it's own folder. See these links for downloads:

Here's the download link for Differentsli11:

http://filecloud.me/v3ybkkn90674.html

and here's the download link for Differentsli12:

http://filecloud.me/mwzp0rq1vhnh.html

3. Download the latest (???) driver (341.44) for these instructions.

4. using winrar (rarlabs.com), extract (do NOT run the setup yet) to a folder called nvidia for example.

5. Assuming your driver folder is called nvidia, go to C:\nvidia\Display.Driver

6. In this folder find the file 'nvlddmkm.sy_' (That's not a typo).

7. copy this file to where you unpacked one of the older versions of differentsli (1.1 or 1.2).

8. Hold down the left-shift key in the open differentsli folder (make sure you don't have any files selected) and right-click, select 'open command window here'. make sure it's a administrator prompt.

9. Type the following command: 'expand nvlddmkm.sy_ nvlddmkm.sys'

10. you should now have a file named 'nvlddmkm.sys' run the patching executable to see if it will patch it successfully, if it does, then go back to where you extracted the driver installer and run the setup.exe normally.

11. when the normal driver installation is done, go back to where your older differentsli folder is that has the older patched nvlddmkm.sys and run the install.cmd, (if that is missing from one of my older differentsli uploads, copy the
install.cmd from 1.3 it will still work).

12. reboot your pc and see if you can activate sli mode.

NOTE: do NOT try to use my patched nvlddmkm35330 file with these older drivers (or any other driver that isn't 64-bit 353.30), use only your patched driver from 341.44.

Hope these instructions help!

I'm not informed at all on any apple hardware, my best general answer is no, the reason being that the mb in question has to be able to support at least crossfire technology, this is amd/ati stuff, as far as I know
there are no apple motherboards out there that will support this. Sorry.

If you want this sort of thing, you'll have to go with a amd or intel based motherboard.

My last apple computer was back in the early to mid eighties (apple 2e), I haven't touched
a apple computer since.

I found this link:

https://support.apple.com/kb/SP506?locale=en_US

this lists the general specs for your computer, it does list pci and nvidia specs in the
specifications, this would suggest it would work, but I'm more concerned about the chipset
being used, if you want to try it, go ahead, there's a very slim chance it might work, but
I never had apple computers in mind when doing this stuff. Be sure to back all important
information up first.

Thx,
I know that you can run Crossfire on a 2008 MacPro, but I didn't find anything about the 2009 model.

In that case, I'd say the chances are a little better, if your reasonably sure about the crossfire spec, then try it, the worst that would (probably) happen
is a general driver error, or sli mode still wouldn't be available even after the patched driver was installed. Just keep in mind the following:

The operating system and hardware in your computer **has** to have full support for 64-bit. (There is NO support for 32-bit at all).
Your system will support crossfire and has at least 2 x16 pci slots. (Slower pci speeds may still work, but most computers now support x16).
You can install standard nvidia drivers with no issues.

Good Luck!

I'm gonna try it out.
I have 2* 16 x PCIE and 64bit and right now I'm running the current stable release for the GTX 970
Still waiting for my secondary power supply, cause I'm already running into trouble when I overclock the 1 gpu.
When I've got that one, I'll borrow a second one. And check if its working.
When I get a general driver error I can reinstall the original one or? I don't have to do anything with bios settings or anything like that? Cause 1.st thing I see when I boot up in Windows is the Login screen, everything before is black.

If the patched driver has problems running, all you have to do is reinstall the original driver, as a matter of fact, here's a quick(er) way to do this:

When you download the original driver installer from nvidias' site, create a folder called 'nvidia' say for example, go to where you have saved the download
and run winrar (rarlabs.com if you don't already have it) highlight the driver installer and right-click and select 'extract files', specify the folder you created (c:\nvidia for this example)
once the extraction is done, go to c:\nvidia\Display.Driver, find the file nvlddmkm.sy_ (note the underline), copy this file to where you installed differentsli. open a administrator
command prompt (right-click anywhere in the open differentsli folder while holding down left-shift and select 'open command prompt here', in the command prompt window
type 'expand nvlddmkm.sy_ nvlddmkm.sys'. highlight the nvlddmkm.sys file right-click and select winrar to rar up this file, this is your un-patched version of this file packed up
for safe keeping, you can either download one of my already patched sys files and then run the install command, or you can run the patcher executable to try and patch this
yourself, either way after you've done this, type in 'Install.cmd' and install the patched driver (it should say 'success' if everything went well), if the patched driver causes a problem,
go back to the same folder, delete (or rename) the current nvlddmkm.sys file that is there, double-click on the packed unpatched nvlddmkm.sys and run the install.cmd again, or
you could just run the original setup.exe that comes with the driver package you downloaded from nvidia.

I was having trouble getting SLi to work on my cards again after I had moved home and reseated my GPUs (it caused a strange BIOS configuration error after my first boot and I just couldn't get SLI to appear in the Nvidia control panel).

However, this worked a gem!

Absolute legend. Thank ye!

Glad it's working for you!
Many thanks for your patched driver 353!
And I have a problem with DifferentSLI actually with windows testmode, and can't from lust time start my loved ARMA3 because of f*cking batleye
Maybe you have some ideas how to certify the nvlddmkm.sys for win8.1x64 under differentsli?

There is no way to avoid test mode that I know of, the problem is nvlddmkm.sys had to be altered to patch it, that canceled the certification from nvidia and microsoft, windows 7 at least
will allow unsigned drivers to run, but only in test mode, I'm running windows 7 on my system, so that's the only operating system I have to do this sort of thing, I'm **assuming** that
it will also work for windows 8 & 8.1 (64-bit) but I don't know that for sure.
Maybe the error your having with arma3 is something else, all this patched driver does is activate sli mode on systems that wouldn't otherwise support it, if you can activate sli
mode, then this patched driver is doing it's job, I've never ran across a game yet on my system at least that refused to run because the system was in testmode. I don't know of
any way to 're-certify' the patched driver without getting the authentic certificates from nvida and microsoft, they aren't likely to give those out...

Give me the error info involving arma3, maybe I can still do something.

I found this bit of info with a google search:

Open a command prompt (administrator) and run the following steps:

  1. Enter shutdown.exe /r /o /f /t 00
  2. Click the "OK" button
  3. System will restart to a "Choose an option" screen
  4. Select "Troubleshoot" from "Choose an option" screen
  5. Select "Advanced options" from "Troubleshoot" screen
  6. Select "Windows Startup Settings" from "Advanced options" screen
  7. Click "Restart" button
  8. System will restart to "Advanced Boot Options" screen
  9. Select "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement"
  10. Once the system starts, install the drivers as you would on Windows 7
Please note I have windows 7 so I can't test this out myself, this is for windows 8.

Here's a link for windows 8.1:

Thanks a lot for attention and the spent time to my problem!
DifferentSLI transfers system to test mode because of not certified nvlddmkm.sys file and at start of ARMA3 the additional anticheat utility of BATTLEYE checks system and stops start of ARMA3 if the system is in test/advanced mode.
So, well, it is not really serious problem.
The HyperSLI working at hardware mode but the supported driver's version so old, is the HyperSLI project closed? (I have too same video)

Hypersli hasn't been supported in a long time, the latest driver version it supported was 335.23 (I think), if your right about batteye actually stopping the game from starting because of test mode being
active, this is the first time I've heard of this happening, in that case your stuck using official drivers, there isn't anything I can do for that problem, the system has to be in test mode for this patched
driver to work. If my previous instructions didn't help, then I'm afraid your out of luck as far as differentsli goes...

Alright so iv read alot of this forum and other sites trying to get this to work with my recently purchased used desktop.

My specs are as follows:

I5 proccesor
2x gigabyte gtx 560 ti gpus

Hyper sli installs and states it working but I cannot get the sli option in my nvidia control panel to save my life!

I have the latest nvidia drivers and am using the latest hyper sli from the first page of this forum.

SLI bridge is installed & computer reads both cards and both cards are working fine.

Can anyone help me get the option into my control panel for nvidia as its quite anoying having two cards and not utilizing them.

Thanks for your help
