when discussing pin mods, we use actual FSB and not intels FSB. Just make sure you keep that clear (200 FSB = intels 800, 266 = 1066, etc)

by 533 to 800 i take it you mean 133-200.... what CPU is that for? its still socket 775, yes?

oh and you cant vmod with the pins. its only useful on CPU's that OC'd to those levels on stock volts.

no, it just autodetects it as a new CPU with a higher FSB.

Mussels, my chip can clock to 200mhz on stock vcore. The board its currently in I beleive does not have a PCI lock which makes it very unstable if I try to clock it with a PCI card installed and of course you know HP/Compaq, locked bios options.

this mod raises the FSB as if it was faster at stock. even with a locked PCI clock, 200/266 are required to work. (P4/core 2 speeds)

Your CPU and your mobo need to work at the higher FSB, and then this mod simply makes it detect higher from the start.

depends, if your CPU is say, 200x9 (1.8GHz) and you go to 266x9 - you get 2.4GHz.

Before you do this mod,you need to test to make sure your system will post and run fine with your fsb at 266.

try bumping your fsb upto 266,it needs to run at 266 with no vcore increse,or it wont work.If your chip wont post at 266 on stock vcore it wont work cause when you put the pin modded chip in,you cant increase the vcore if it wont post at that.If it will post at 266 fine,the pin mod will work.It will just post at 266 with the stock vcore,hey presto 266fsb 2.4ghz chip

If it wont post at 266 you will just have to reset your bios.

Dont pin mod it without trying it first.

My mate has a 2140,his is running at 250fsb/2ghz.With no vcore increase.

It wont go beyond 220 then it wont boot up to windows,i was wondering if this mod would work with this mobo and everyone keeps saying "oh yhe no problem" this is exactly what i was afraid of,this mobo SUX,it wont OC for shit,I need a new one.

Make sure your memory is 1066 capable if you are trying for a 266/1066 bus, or that you can strap it to where you won't get a NO POST situation.

Taking the time for proper research and planning would've saved you from this situation, but we'll help ya get what you can out of your build, and if you get a better mobo like you are planning to, things will be a lot easier. I linked one in your 1950pro thread that I just put in a build for my friend, it's a damn good board with lot's of features and good OC-ing, plus the price isn't going to rape your wallet nearly as bad as some other boards with similar credentials.

I hope you learn from this and take more time to find what you want the next round, you're doing good thus far, and it is a learning experience, and in the end, you will be happy with your results.
