If I were you, I would forgo either of those heatsinks. If you need a somewhat short heatsink, I'd see about grabbing a Xigmatek HDT-S963. If not that, then at least an Artic Cooling Freezer64 Pro. Both are in the $20-25 US range.

If space isn't an issue, grab a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 for a few dollars more.

If you were in the US, I would've sent you my Opteron cooler. It would at least be a fair bit better than your current cooler.

i've seen a couple of pc's with thier HSF's tied down by string, been some super fans on them, and never failed of what i know, but thats not something i'd even consider, lol. the main thing when i modd the retaining clip is making it strong enough, cause the gigabyte HSF has some real good weight with it.

just dont make it have too much tension, thats how i killed a AXP 3200 (Unlocked) because i bent a clip to make it produce more tension.

Yes the AC Freezer64 Pro is a cheap and sure way to get down those temperatures.

Could anyone recommend that cooler? if not then im pretty sure im going to go pick an AC Freezer 64 Pro up tomorrow.

Unless anyone could let me know if something as little as changing the fan on the heatsink could improve the temps... by at least 10 degrees, which is asking for alot i know.

Ok so here's the latest, i decided to switch cases with my 3200+/NF-7 rig, temps pretty much unchanged... except for the 5degree drop on cpu temp :) but woke up this morning and everything seems to be going right, i have the net back on, and my temps have dropped somewhat near 20 degrees :D

now i know its quite cool in my room right now, but that was also with using Q-fan which my fan rpm was 1.500, and for some reason, i decided to keep the psu what was already in the case, and i seem to be getting 12.4v on my 12v, 3.34v on my 3.3, and 5.09 on my 5.0, im guessing thats a good thing that it has gone up above the rating? my other psu lowered those figures, please someone get back to me this time, it would be really helpfull :D

Regarding your rails, it is not uncommon to fluctuate +/- .5 either way, so you are in good shape! :toast:
