I updated DirectX and I still got the black screen from hell. fml.

Do you guys have a different link for the 10.4 driver.. because it didn't work when I downloaded it before.

Have you tried getting it straight from amd.com? There might also be a mobile version of the driver specifically for lap top's....

Yes fml is fuck my life. And I have tried to find the 10.4 drivers on amd.com but I couldn't find it... maybe I'm not looking hard enough.. :laugh:

i dont keep up with AMD but i think the mobiles dont come out at the same time as the desktop cards. so id try 10.5 instead of 10.4 if its a mobile 5xxx series card.

Well I was wondering what the temps are maybe this is more than just a DX issue if you have done all this stuff there leaves only some much left . But it still could be just a driver issue I am just thinking if that doesn't work is all .

Only quickly read a few post's in this thread. the laptop sounds very good! and chances are there are some overclocking feature's in the BIOS? double check, and make sure they all are default/stock settings, any overclock could cause the error... I had it the other week, anyway's might not be your solution but thought it would be worth a mention at the least

if you get the drivers working download GPUtool off of this site and try underclocking the memory for the GPU

If the idle temp is 64C whats the load temp? if the load temp is getting close to 100c thats bad.
By the way if the laptop is not getting very warm while playing games it could also mean that the gpu is not coming in good contact with the gpu cooler, the gpu cooler is what disperses the heat through out the laptop. Maybe the laptop needs some new thermel past or a new fan?

Yeah that is why I asked for temps . Heat can be an issue . If your temps at idle are say 64c that gives you little head room till you reach the max or the max it can work at .

When my laptop is idle it stays around 60-65 C but when I'm playing it goes up to 80 C. Is this normal for a mobility graphics card?
