I've only had my loop up and running for 3 days and the tubing has turned yellow I'm thinking its because of the EK clear coolant? Is this normal ?

Did you rinse your loop before you put the coolant in? Yellow already... sounds like contaminants getting warm...

That bad huh? Something is definitely not right, my tubing got a slight yellow tint after a year of running before I changed the coolant. Did your EK coolant say whether it was pretreated with biocide or not? Might be worth purchasing some, last thing you want is gunk clogging up your CPU and GPU block.

How odd... There could be something in the radiator in all likeliness, is it brass?

Looks like you might be a victim of plasticiser leech. Was an issue with some of their older tubing, is it new?

I don't think I'd trust the quality of any watercooling gear bought from an eBay shop. Go direct to suppliers or w/c specialised retailers. These ebay shops probably don't have a clue how to store their goods.

Yer i dont know why it went like that i dont think its the coolant more just crap tubing, or could handle the heat in side the case it did get hot but still its rated at like 80-90c.

If you stick a knife tip down it, or a flat head screw driver can you scrape that stuff off? If not it may be UV light changing the color of the tubing.

I'm curious to know this as well. Thinking about watercooling soon so i enjoy finding out what to do and what not to do before hand (Edit: Not that you did anything wrong).

I am betting this is a combination of Chemicals in the coolant reacting with the chemical make up of the tube and UV light as the energy + the heat in the water that is making this reaction happen. Either through direct sunlight, or installed UV lighting.

HAHA funny you say that but the case is closed its a mini itx no windows and no light in the case at all also all the tubing changed colour even the tubing right down the bottom under the GPU where there is zero light, and it also doesn't scrape off its the tubing its self that's changed colour there no film on the inside.

This wouldn't be a problem if you had a gold themed build...

Well I was wrong about the UV, but correct on the chemical reaction with the tube. If it was anything else you could have scraped off the film. So something in your coolant doesn't like the tubing.

Just go to homedepot/lowes or whatever you have that is similar in the area and they will sell tubing that works just fine. Plus it is mega cheap compared to buying from a specialty store for liquid cooling and from what I can tell is the exact same stuff...That is all I have ever used.

I'd cut into a piece of tube for a cross-section analysis to see how deep, if at all, the "colour" has penetrated.

Contacting PrimoChill may be a prudent next step; I'm sure you'll get a quick reply! Good luck. :toast:
