The copy protection hook in the article Squirrely posted.

Basically, there is a part in the game where you are above a gas chamber filled with gas. You are supposed to glide over the gas. But they put a copy protection hook in the game that makes batman fall into the gas if you are using a pirated copy. So you can't get past that part if you have a pirated copy.

My friend finished it with pirated copy so it doesnt seems to work, because it can be overturn to make thru that place withou dying. So developers lost again to pirats.

I got perfect protection method for developers for it games.
Heres how it work.
developers should make their games discs protected in following way:when user put CD or DVD into cd/dvd-rom,game starts automatically to install it self with all instalation options like for all nowdays games. But when users goes to my computers he will see dics but when he will try to open it manually he will get message disc not found. So no files will be available for pirats to crack. And protection for copy, write, burn for that disc.I think developers can do so,but i dont get why dont they make it so_Only problem will be the download versions of the game liek steam,D2D

They can just go to "tools > folder options > view > and than check these options show hidden files and folders > and than uncheck hide extensions for known file types and uncheck hide protected operating system files.

and im pretty sure it will show the games data cause if it doesn't install the game data to the computer than you'd have to run it off the cd/dvd

now who wants to do that ;)

i've also seen people pirate games with the entire directory all you have to do is run a registry file that makes the games and operating system think you installed the game.

The only way to stop pirating is.. you can't

your right! Stream was a joke, the easiest way to get pirated games. But like i said in my last post. having the disc is not needed, the exe tells the cracker what they need :) And putting a password protection or whatever you talking about would prevent even the owner from use it lol And the load the machine would take open and handle it would be pretty insane.

But game dev are getting better at the copyright, some games can't be crack or just can't been successfully. Mostly microsoft games, that have to have a username/password or some type of registration to play. So there you have to enable the game threw your firewall, which is where they get you. If they really wanted to catch the people that's involve in pirated they could. It wouldn't be easy, but they can do! ;)

I usually buy my new releases from Amazon. It beats driving around town all day trying to find a copy, and they are usually cheaper too. And I swear they send out pre-ordered games early, because every time I've done it, I've recieved it on either the day it was released, or the day after.:rockout:

Yeah, I tend to get, if i can, grab preorders from Amazon.. I know if I want a CD, I'll get it the day it comes out, most games I've grabbed for pre-order have been the day of..

I still have my pre-order at Gamestop.. 360 version.. I'm really wanting to grab it, but I haven't even turned on my 360 in ages.. I'm tired of "friends" on their bugging the hell out of me.. No tpu'ers, but friends I know in real life.. I just want to get on and play.. Don't want to spend hours Multiplayer game waiting on this, and that... Never cared for that.. But, i got the collector's edition..

As for the whole Comic/movie/game stuff.. Yeah, I'm a hardcore comic fan.. But Look at Comics.. There is so many different arc's for every character... Spider-Man is now being so twisted up its not even funny... But, they can't go on and on with the same old stuff.. It's not going to draw people in.. Same thing with the Batman Movies... They have to go at it different.. game is the same basic... I don't know.. I have a open Mind on things like this.. Change has to happen... Even if it's the best thing alive.. IMPO

I bet that system will be killer for it! ;)

Man, I'm on my lappy and can't get it on computer.. Might have to buy it for Ps3.. Since No 360 here.. lol.. as for re5.... 4 was so much of a let down... well everything since 2, to me at lease, was.. I'd rather hunt down a Parasite Eve then grab another Re.. But, that's my taste on it..

The best way that crackers got past the M$ random server check was a loop back i.p address such as 127.0.0.1, and with a small crack can tell the game your playing that it is legit and wont require authentication anymore. i just buy the damn game if it's good :rockout:

in the end are all these hack and cracks and bullshit worth it, not to me

I was VERY disappointed with RE5 for the PC. Xbox version was ok, but the PC version was sluggish, and the max resolution allowed is 1280x720. WHAT IS THIS? When I was trying to turn, I have to remember all these keys... it was WORSE than RE4 on the PC. Resident evil games are best left to the consoles. Batman on the otherhand, at Quakecon I had a BLAST playing it.
