X1900gt Unlock Bios Found!!!

ok could I use ati dos to get my bios? since ati.win wont work or ati tool.25 wont work to get my bios?
the ati tool.24 would take a bios but it wont load on rabit 2.1.. and it says I got 8 pipelines 64 bit which is incorrect on ati .25 i got 12 pipelines....



**DO NOT USE WINFLASH** i heard too many horror stories from it, and most of the time it does a BAD flash to your card.

use ATIFLASH, i was a n00b about it but i learned how to use it, read this post about BIOS flashing http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/...ing/vidcard/34 .

ATIflash:

1. download it

2. make a bootlabe floppy (right click it, then click "format", then check the box "Create a MS-DOS startup Disk")

3.unzip atiflash file to the Floopy

4.put the BIOS you want in the floppy too (code name it so you could remember, EXP: i named mine "LOL")

5.boot from floppy

6.type atiflash, then wait and a something like a manual will appear, just press any key to pass that.

7.type just like this "atiflash -s 0 oldbios.bin" thats so you could save ur old BIOS in case

8.type just like this "atiflash -newbios -f -p 0 lol.bin/rom " (btw do not put lol just put the code-name you gave to the bios)

9.done...

most of the time ppl get bad flashes because they dont type -newbios.

What is the (final?) verdict on the Sapphire X1900GT 724b 0xAD4E? I haven't opened my BIOS to see whether it's an R580PRO or an R580XL.

The GT is one mosfet short isn't it? Won't it be a problem once (if ever) the 4 extra pipes are unlocked?

Mine is a 724B / 0xAD4E too from Powercolor and its a R580XL. I am thinking that the likelihood of an unlock is pretty slim. Not being negative, its just that there seems to be alot more R580LEs out there (Compared to PROs), plus the one less mosfet etc, leads me to believe that these are hardware 'crippled' rather than just in the BIOS.

It will be a shame if they can't be unlocked as its the perfect 'little card that could', but they are still a good performer for the money.

No that was a quote from someone else, that I had put on my post wonderin if this was a way I can get my bios info since I tried other ways eg. winflash ati tool .24 and .25 with no luck.

On another note :
I am keeping my card coool now with "overclocking tool" for ati using its manual fan setting, LOUD! but works... somthing like 60c playing need for speed most wanted when I had a reading of 86 or 91 before. I will still get an aftermaket cooler so its not so loud.

what about to mod a x1900XT bios? i mean it has 512mb but isnt it possible to mod it to 256mb? in rabit 2.1?

i chanced the device id to 7249 like XT cards have.. but when i had flashed it it sayd 7248 and resulted in that i couldnt install driver or anything.. why did it get like that 7248 insted of 7249 like i put in rabit 2.1?

EvX, I have Sapphire graphics too, with exactly the same bios /724B, 0xAD4E/.
I compare your bios with my /Hex Comparison tool/ and booth are sundry. Strange.

I'm waiting, for good news about unlock my x1900gt.

Good Luck!!! To my knowledge, most of the X1900GT's use 1.4ns from Samsung.



I used ATIFlash, the DOS one. You can download this in the TechPowerUp! downloads section. When you do, place all the files onto a floppy or a usb boot drive. Fire it up and type atiflash -f -p 0 x19gtu.bin!!!

I have same problem with X1800XL . i try upload bios from X1800XT . i try every programs (winflash , atiflash etc...) and i cant upload old bios . Send your cart to service but dont tell what you do . (now i have X1900 GT )

Hey, a friend of mine has an X1900GT that he got from best buy the first week it came out. He sent me his bios and I modded it and it works! He's working with all 16 pipes now, the lucky bastard... Were gonna put a VF1-Plus vga cooler on it and case fan on the vregulators just like I did on my x1800gto and overclock the shit out of this thing... I'll report findings. I may even get him to try and sell it afterward and maybe make 100 bucks off it..?/...

Hi, I read all pages of this thread but I didn't found information about bios of your friend. Can you post something? I would know GP_PIPE_SELECT, a screenshot of the 16p active, am i asking too much?

when u have a x1900gt with a r580pro chip..The other r580le....are not good to mod
i have also an sapphire x1900gt and no chance to flash with r580le and gb_pipe_select 0x6e4b..but 720/850 iss possible for my card @1,45vore and accelero2 cooling..I think u have a chance to mod but nobody find the way..We need EINSTEIN

2 unlocked cards.

It's likely there is no R580 "PRO" core, it's just ATiTool that thinks there are such things. The unlockable cards are probably all ES' R580 with 16 working pipes. The rest would be defective GPUs.

Luckily, I recovered from my temporary insanity and cancelled my order for the X1900GT's...

I'll be recieving my x1900gt in a matter of days. lucky for me it was a replacement for an x1800gto -> 16p gone bad . brand is HIS. a recap of what info i'll need to see if this thing unlocks would be nice, and if somone wants to contact me about helping mod a bios that would be cool too. how did your pipes go bad? and I the noob was wonderin if i can try maxing my ati 1900 gt in ccc? I thought it had high mem mhz? but it says 720 max, I got it at almost 600 core and 700 memory.
