The Quadro NVS 280 PCI was a professional graphics card by NVIDIA, launched on October 28th, 2003. Built on the 150 nm process, and based on the NV34B graphics processor, in its NV34 GL variant, the card supports DirectX 9.0a. Since Quadro NVS 280 PCI does not support DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, it might not be able to run all the latest games. The NV34B graphics processor is a relatively small chip with a die area of only 91 mm² and 45 million transistors. It features 4 pixel shaders and 2 vertex shaders, 4 texture mapping units, and 4 ROPs. Due to the lack of unified shaders you will not be able to run recent games at all (which require unified shader/DX10+ support). NVIDIA has paired 64 MB DDR memory with the Quadro NVS 280 PCI, which are connected using a 64-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 275 MHz, memory is running at 250 MHz.
Being a single-slot card, the NVIDIA Quadro NVS 280 PCI does not require any additional power connector, its power draw is rated at 13 W maximum. Display outputs include: 1x DMS-59. Quadro NVS 280 PCI is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI interface. The card measures 168 mm in length, and features a single-slot cooling solution.
