The Radeon 8500 X4 is a graphics card by ATI that is not released yet. Built on the 150 nm process, and based on the R200 graphics processor, the card supports DirectX 8.1. The R200 graphics processor is a relatively small chip with a die area of only 68 mm² and 60 million transistors. Radeon 8500 X4 combines four graphics processors to increase performance. It features 4 pixel shaders and 2 vertex shaders, 8 texture mapping units and 4 ROPs per GPU. Due to the lack of unified shaders you will not be able to run recent games at all (which require unified shader/DX10+ support). ATI has placed 256 MB DDR memory on the card, which are connected using a 64-bit memory interface per GPU (each GPU manages 64 MB). The GPU is operating at a frequency of 250 MHz, memory is running at 250 MHz.
Being a single-slot card, its power draw is rated at 92 W maximum. Display outputs include: 2x DVI. Radeon 8500 X4 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-X interface. The card measures 330 mm in length, and features a single-slot cooling solution.
