ASUS Showcases PB279Q 27-Inch UHD Monitor at Computex

In addition to the 32-inch ProArt PA328Q ASUS has brought to Computex 2014 another 'prosumer' oriented UHD (3840 x 2160) monitor, the 27-inch PB279Q. Seen below, this upcoming model features a 'super slim' 9 mm bezel, 100% sRGB coverage, 178/178-degree viewing angles, a 5 ms (GTG) response time, 300 cd/m2 brightness, and one DisplayPort 1.2, one mini DisplayPort and four HDMI 1.4 inputs.

The PB279Q also offers full pivot, tilt and swivel and height adjustment. No word yet on pricing or availability.

Dell Debuts New 2-in-1 Devices, All-in-One PCs, Tablets and Monitors

Iiyama Announces ProLite GB2773HS-2 27-inch Monitor with 144 Hz Refresh Rate

Iiyama rolled out the ProLite GB2773HS-2, the company's latest monitor designed for high-speed applications, such as games. This 27-incher may offer just Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, but tops it up with 144 Hz refresh rates, and 1 ms (GTG) response time. To keep up with those specs, the monitor relies on either dual-link DVI, or DisplayPort. It also supports HDMI 1.4, but refresh rates will be capped at 80 Hz, due to a bandwidth limitation. The monitor features an LED-backlit TN-film panel, with maximum brightness of 300 cd/m², and dynamic mega-contrast ratio. Its viewing angles are rather narrow at 80° vertical, with 85° horizontal. Its stand offers tilts of up to 17°, and swivels of up to 90°. Slated for later this week, the ProLite GB2773HS-2 is expected to be priced at 43,800 JPY.

Iiyama Outs ProLite XB2776QS-2 Display

Japanese display maker Iiyama rolled out the ProLite XB2776QS-2, a 27-inch monitor, which offers WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display resolution. It embeds an AH-IPS panel that's LED backlit, and doesn't rely on PWM to govern brightness (is flicker free). Its other chops include 350 cd/m² maximum brightness, 178°/178° viewing angles, 5 ms (GTG) response time, and dynamic mega-contrast ratio. Display inputs include dual-link DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, and D-Sub. Its stand allows you to raise its height by up to 13 cm, and rotate its panel by 90° for portrait orientation. Other features include 3W stereo speakers, and Eco Mode, which cuts down power draw by up to 45 percent. It is expected to be available later this week in Japan.

Dell Introduces Three New UltraSharp Monitors

Dell has once again expanded its popular UltraSharp line of monitors, this time with three models that are aimed towards office use due to their video conference capabilities. Named UZ2215H, UZ2315H and UZ2715H, the new 21.5-inch, 23-inch and 27-inch monitors respectively feature a built-in 2 megapixel camera, dual (Omni-directional) microphones and two built-in 5 W speakers.

Dell's displays use IPS panels and have a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, an 8 ms GTG response time, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, a two-port USB 3.0 hub, and D-Sub, dual HDMI and DisplayPort 1.2a outputs. The UZ2315H and UZ2715H are selling in the US for $299.99 and $449.99 while the UZ2215H can be found in Hong Kong at HK$2,399 (~ 309 USD ).

Acer Introduces the K272HUL 27-Inch WQHD Monitor

Iiyama Unveils Four New AH-IPS Monitors

Iiyama has today announced no less than four new additions to its ProLite monitor family - the 21.5-inch XU2290HS, the 23-inch XU2390HS and XUB2390HS and the 27-inch XUB2790HS. All of these models make use of an AH-IPS panel and feature a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 5 ms (GTG) response time, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 250 cd/m2 brightness, dual 2 W speakers, and D-Sub, DVI and HDMI connectors.

The ProLite XU2290HS and XU2390HS have a height-adjustable stand while the XUB2390HS and XUB2790HS allow for tilt, swivel and height adjustment. The ProLite XU2290HS (22,800 yen / ~ 222 USD), XU2390HS (24,800 yen / ~ 242 USD), XUB2390HS (26,800 yen / ~ 261 USD) and XUB2790HS (36,800 yen / ~ 359 USD) come with a three-year warranty and will become available in February.

Philips Unveils 27-Inch Monitor with NVIDIA G-SYNC

Dell Prepares 21:9 Cinema Display with 3440x1440 Resolution

Dell is on a roll. After announcing its 28-inch UltraSharp P2815Q and 24-inch UltraSharp UP2414Q, both of which feature Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) display resolutions in the 16:9 aspect-ratio, the company is turning its attention to the newfound 21:9 ultra-wide aspect-ratio. Expreview unearthed plans for a new 34-inch display, with an unusually high resolution that could woo away some of the Ultra HD crowd. The new U3415W from Dell offers a native resolution of 3440 x 1440, which has the same Y-axis as WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels), albeit much wider. Basic math would tell you that it's still a staggering 40 percent lower pixel count than Ultra HD. The U3415W reportedly features an IPS LCD panel made by LG. The display should offer a decent middle-ground between currently $400-ish 27-inch WQHD monitors, and four-figure >30-inch Ultra-HD ones taking shape.

Hazro Readies Three New IPS Monitors

UK-based Hazro Technologies is currently preparing to release a trio of monitors using AH-IPS panels, the 27-inch HZ27WiE, the 29-inch HZ29WiA and the 30-inch HZ30WiG. All three models have 178/178 viewing angles, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and include D-Sub, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort connectivity.

The HZ27WiE also features a native resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, a 6 ms G2G response time and 440 cd/m2 brightness, while the HZ29WiA tops 2560 x 1080 pixels, and offers an 8 ms G2G response time and 300 cd/m2 brightness. As for the HZ30WiG, it delivers a 2560 x 1600 resolution, it packs a 4-port USB 3.0 hub, and has a 6 ms response time and 350 cd/m2 brightness. The displays have yet to be priced.

NEC Introduces the MultiSync EA274WMi IPS Monitor

NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced today the MultiSync EA274WMi, the latest addition to its high-end IT desktop portfolio. Corporate environments and other industries will benefit from this performance-driven WQHD resolution LED-backlit model.

Designed to enhance work performance, this widescreen model features IPS panel technology with wide viewing angles (178° horizontal/vertical), touch-sensitive menu controls and ergonomic adjustability. I-O Data Also Announces the MF275XPBR 27-inch Monitor

In addition to the HDPF-UT series portable HDDs, I-O Data rolled out the MF275XPBR 27-inch monitor. This rarity makes use of a Super PLS (plane-to-line switching) LCD panel made by Samsung, that's LED-backlit. PLS panels offer comparable viewing angles to conventional IPS panels, but with higher maximum brightness, and increased image quality. The display is, however, better suited for productivity than gaming, as you'll soon find out. It offers viewing angles of 178°/178° (H/V), 15 ms (yes, fifteen milliseconds) of response time, that can be lowered to only 8.3 ms using display overdrive; 300 cd/m² maximum brightness, 1,000:1 static and dynamic mega-contrast ratio; and full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) native resolution. Display inputs include DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI. Miscellaneous features include stereo speakers, and an ECO Mode function that lowers power consumption by up to 30 percent. It is slated for a mid-November launch in the Japanese market.

BenQ has today launched the EW2740L, a 27-inch monitor part of the EW40 Series which makes use of a VA panel and allows for 'flawless streaming from any MHL-compatible device. Iiyama Announces New, 19.5-Inch and 27-Inch ProLite Monitors

Iiyama today unveiled the latest additions to its ProLite line of monitors, a 19.5-inch model with a TN panel (ProLite E2083HSD) and a 27-inch unit packing an AMVA+ panel (ProLite XB2783HSU). The 19.5-inch display has a native resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels, a 5 ms response time, a contrast ratio of 1,000:1, 250 cd/m2 brightness, two built-in 2 W speakers, and D-Sub and DVI inputs.

The AMVA+-equipped monitor is Full HD (1920 x 1080 resolution), and features a 4 ms (GTG) response time, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, two 2 W speakers, a two-port USB hub, D-Sub, DVI and HDMI connectivity, and a stand allowing for tilt, swivel, pivot and height adjustment.

The ProLite E2083HSD and ProLite XB2783HSU are backed by a three-year warranty and cost 16,800 yen (~ 170 USD) and 33,800 yen (~ 343 USD), respectively.

Packard Bell Launches New Widescreen Monitors

Acer-owned PC maker Packard Bell has now officially introduced five entry-level widescreen monitors, the Maestro Series 226DXbmid and 236Dbd and the Viseo Series 223DXbid, 243Dbid and 273Dbi. The 21.5-inch and 23-inch Maestro models feature a 14.5 mm profile, an IPS panel with 178/178-degree viewing angles, an LED backlight, a 5 ms response time, and a dynamic contrast ratio of 100,000,000:1. Both the 226DXbmid and 236Dbd include D-Sub and DVI connectors, with the former also boasting an HDMI input.

The Viseo displays have a 19 mm profile, a piano black finish, a Full HD (1080p) TN panel, a 5 ms response time, and D-Sub, DVI and HDMI connectivity.

NEC Introduces New 27-Inch Color Accurate Display Built on GB-R LED Backlight

NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced today the latest additions to its award-winning MultiSync PA Series of displays. The 27-inch PA272W color accurate display and PA272W color critical display with SpectraViewII calibration software and sensor come in both white and black cabinets.

The redesigned monitors are built on GB-R LED backlights, which mean that the PA272W provides a wider color gamut and more color control than a conventional white LED backlight, and consumes 37 percent less power than comparable CCFL backlights.
