Eurotech, AppliedMicro and NVIDIA Develop New HPC System Architecture

Eurotech, a leading provider of embedded and supercomputing technologies, has teamed up with Applied Micro Circuits Corporation and NVIDIA to develop a new, original high performance computing (HPC) system architecture that combines extreme density and best-in-class energy efficiency. The new architecture is based on an innovative highly modular and scalable packaging concept.

Eurotech, which has years of significant experience in designing and manufacturing original HPC systems, has successfully developed an HPC systems architecture that optimizes the benefits of greater density, as well as the energy efficiency of ARM processors and high-performance GPU accelerators.

NVIDIA GPU-Accelerated Supercomputer Sets World Record for Energy Efficiency

Italy's "Eurora" supercomputer -- which uses NVIDIA Tesla GPU accelerators based on NVIDIA Kepler, the world's fastest and most efficient high performance computing (HPC) architecture -- has set a new record for data center energy efficiency, NVIDIA today announced. The Eurora supercomputer, built by Eurotech and deployed Wednesday at the Cineca facility in Bologna, Italy, the country's most powerful supercomputing center, reached 3,150 megaflops per watt of sustained performance -- a mark 26 percent higher than the top system on the most recent Green500 list of the world's most efficient supercomputers.

Eurora broke the record by combining 128 high-performance, energy-efficient NVIDIA Tesla K20 accelerators with the Eurotech Aurora Tigon supercomputer, featuring innovative Aurora Hot Water Cooling technology, which uses direct hot water cooling on all electronic and electrical components of the HPC system.

Eurotech Announces New 6U OpenVPX SBC With Quad-Core Intel Xeon CPU

Eurotech announces the CPU-111-10, a rugged, high-performance 6U VPX (VITA 46) Single Board Computer (SBC) featuring a quad-core Intel L5408 Xeon processor and integrated 10 Gigabit Ethernet switch to support full-mesh backplane data layer interconnectivity for up to eight SBCs integrated into a single chassis.

Available in air cooled or conduction cooled formats, the CPU-111-10 conforms to the OpenVPX (VITA 65) payload module profile MOD6-PAY-4F2T-12.2.2.4 with four fat pipes (10 GBase-BX4) and two thin pipes (1000Base-T).

Eurotech Announces the DynaCOR 10-00zz Rugged Industrial Computer

Eurotech, a leading supplier of embedded technologies, products and systems, today announces the launch of the EN50155 rated DynaCOR 10-00, a new family of rugged mobile computer that targets demanding machine-to-machine (M2M) applications. Based on the Intel Atom processor, the DynaCOR 10-00 is a purpose-built, low power, mobile computer platform with wide range power supply and IP65 protection.

The DynaCOR 10-00 system is modular and versatile with a fanless design and rugged connectors for long-term reliability in harsh environments. Application specific configurations are easy to implement in several vertical industries enabling reliable M2M solutions even under the most demanding conditions: with a low power, highly efficient design, the DynaCOR 10-00 is a dependable platform featuring CPU speeds of 1.1 GHz, 512 MB RAM and a 2 GB flash disk.
