Intel have recently launched five NUC X15 Laptop Kits featuring Tiger Lake processors and NVIDIA RTX 30 Series graphics. The Intel NUC laptops are sold direct to system integrators without memory or storage and are not available for direct consumer purchase so availability and pricing are unknown. Intel has two processor options available with the Core i5-11400H and i7-11800H paired with an RTX 3060 or RTX 3070 graphics card. The three display options all feature narrow bezel IPS panels and are available in 144 Hz FHD, 240 Hz FHD, and 165 Hz QHD configurations. The laptops all feature mechanical keyboards with RGB lighting, WiFi 6, Thunderbolt 4, PCIe Gen 4 storage, 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI 2.1, Windows Hello, and a 94 Wh battery.

NVIDIA announced that it is bundling the hotly anticipated online multiplayer shooter, "Battlefield 2042," with select pre-built desktops and laptops that feature GeForce RTX 30-series "Ampere" graphics cards. Slated for release in October, the game will be included as pre-order coupons with select pre-builts that have GeForce RTX 3070, RTX 3070 Ti, RTX 3080, RTX 3080 Ti, and RTX 3090. The RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti miss out. There is no word on whether custom-design RTX 30-series graphics cards sold in the DIY retail channel through AIC partners are covered by the giveaway, but from what we can tell, they're not. That's not all, purchasing a qualifying desktop or laptop not only sets you up for a copy of "Battlefield 2042" Standard Edition, but also early access to the game's Open Beta, and in-game goodies such as exclusive weapon charms, player cards, backgrounds, and a special weapon. The bundle is only available in select markets, through participating retailers, and cover a selection of pre-built desktops and laptops.

NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) today reported record revenue for the second quarter ended August 1, 2021, of $6.51 billion, up 68 percent from a year earlier and up 15 percent from the previous quarter, with record revenue from the company's Gaming, Data Center and Professional Visualization platforms. GAAP earnings per diluted share for the quarter were $0.94, up 276 percent from a year ago and up 24 percent from the previous quarter. Non-GAAP earnings per diluted share were $1.04, up 89 percent from a year ago and up 14 percent from the previous quarter.

AMD's 7 nm "Navi 21" silicon powers the company's Radeon RX 6800 series and flagship RX 6900 XT graphics cards. It's a big chip, competitive with NVIDIA's fastest GeForce RTX 30-series products, and AMD set 16 GB as the standard memory amount for all products based on this chip, despite its 256-bit wide GDDR6 memory interface. Komachi Ensaka spotted a curious-looking Navi 21 product with 8 GB of memory, on the UserBenchmark database. The card is slower than the desktop RX 6800, but found trading blows with the RX 6700 XT. Speculation is rife as to what it could be.

The most plausible theory is that it could be a prototype, with its user testing out UserBenchmark. The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti has a shaky performance equation with the similarly-priced RX 6800, and any attempt to close the gap between the RX 6700 XT and the RX 6800 would cannibalize the latter, unless that's exactly what AMD wants—a product competitive with the RTX 3070 Ti, but with a leaner bill of materials than the RX 6800 on account of the 8 GB memory.

ASUS appears to be working with Noctua to release an RTX 3070 graphics card with a custom cooler developed by the company. ASUS has partnered with other companies such as EK to release similar graphics cards with integrated water blocks in the past so this collaboration would seem possible. We have seen ASUS register a new model 'RTX3070-8G-NOCTUA' with the Eurasian Economic Commission however, more information on the upcoming product is sparse with details regarding what specific cooling system will be used and if other models will be released are currently unknown. ASUS replied to an email inquiry about the product saying they were unable to comment but that they would hopefully be able to announce something soon which lends considerable weight to these rumors. We have seen several renders and mods over the years of Noctua themed graphics cards one of which is included below in absence of any pictures or drawings of this card.

MSI launched the official Godzilla-licensed MSI GeForce RTX SUPRIM SE GODZILLA graphics card in Japan. Co-developed with Toho Co., creators of the King of the Monsters, this limited edition card is based on the RTX 3070 SUPRIM X, but with metallic red replacing the magnesium-silver, and slick Godzilla die-cast graphics on the back-plate. It also comes in a rare, collectible box with an old-school live-action costume Godzilla from the Toshimitsu era. Under the hood, is a factory-overclocked LHR (lite hashrate) variant of the RTX 3070. Amazon Japan lists it for the equivalent of USD $1,060.

Intel's foray into the discrete GPU market is inching ever closer, and with that diminishing time to market, leaks are getting more common. Renowned leaker TUM_APISAK has shared some performance numbers for Intel's upcoming DG2 graphics card, part of the company's Xe HPG (High Performance Gaming) architecture. In the leak, he also confirmed that Intel is working on a cut-down version of their top offering (which features 4,096 shading units spread across 512 EUs) in the form of a new SKU that offers 448 EUs and 3584 shading units running at 1.8 GHz. That is the actual chip whose relative performance was shared.

According to TUM_APISAK, users should expect the Intel DG2 448 EU graphics card to offer performance that's around the NVIDIA RTX 3070 (5% lower performance for the Intel part) and AMD's RX 6700 XT (8% lower performance for the Intel part). As for the performance of the full-fat 512 EU chip, another leaker, Moore's Law is Dead, expects its performance to fall very slightly lower than the performance offered by NVIDIA's RTX 3080 and AMD's RX 6800/6800 XT. The 512-EU DG2 should also feature higher Boost clocks up to 2.2 GHz. Intel's launch of their Xe HPG graphics architecture is expected to occur before the end of the year, likely starting with the highest performance/highest margin parts, trickling down the product stack through the beginning of 2022. Intel's launch should help in alleviating the lack of available graphics cards, whilst simultaneously breaking a duopoly market.

Millions of bytes have been written regarding the current GPU market conditions already, which pairs strained logistics channels due to COVID-19 with increased quarantine-fueled demand by gamers - while also throwing in semiconductor manufacturing woes, miners, and scalpers. All in all, it seems that miners and scalpers managed to get their hands on roughly 25% (around 700,000) of distributed current-gen graphics cards during Q1 2021 which, for some reason, seems much lower than the general perception on their impact on this market.

With that said, Reddit user @gregable aggregated daily pricing for GPUs on Ebay and then calculated the GPU's $/hashrate for Ethereum mining. With hashrates remaining steady for graphics cards, this effectively establishes a price trend for GPUs. The news are good, for once: prices are falling, with the average $ cost per MH falling from $26 on May 16th down to $20 as of yesterday. The move is supported mostly by price drops on high hash-rate graphics cards such as the RTX 3090 (a 32% price drop during this period) and RTX 3080/RTX 3070 graphics cards (which dropped by 25%).

Last week, it surfaced that Alienware shipped certain m15 gaming laptops with GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPUs with fewer CUDA cores than what is standard—4,608 vs. 5,120, without properly advertising it in their marketing material. Over the weekend, the company's train-wreck of a response played out. First, from Alienware's parent company Dell; and later by Alienware itself.

Dell, in a statement to Jarrod's Tech, tried to normalize the practice. "CUDA core counts per NVIDIA baseline may change for individual OEM, such as ourselves [Dell], to allow to provide a more specific design and performance tuning. Be assured the changes made by our engineering team for this computer model was done after careful testing and design choices to bring the most stable and best performance possible for our customers, if at a later date more CUDA cores can be unlocked via a future update, we will be swift to make it available on our support website," the Dell statement read.

EK, is ready to offer its premium high-performance GPU water block for ASUS TUF editions of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards. This new water block is named EK-Quantum Vector TUF RTX 3070 D-RGB and is exclusively engineered for ASUS TUF RTX 3070 GPUs. This water block is 255 mm long and 149 mm tall and cools all key components on the GPU's printed circuit board. The EK-Quantum Vector TUF RTX 3070 is compatible with ASUS TUF RTX 3070 graphics cards. This Vector water block actively cools the GPU, top-facing VRAM, power stages, and chokes in the VRM section. The newly developed TUF water blocks feature clean, optimized flow paths that reduce hydrodynamic instabilities and vortexing (dead spots) inside of them.

It is characterized by low hydraulic flow restriction, meaning it can be used with weaker water pumps or pumps running on low-speed settings, and still achieve top performance. Here are some of the first press-shots of the upcoming MSI GeForce RTX 3070 Ti SUPRIM X and MSI GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Ventus 3X graphics cards. Boxes of the cards confirm 8 GB GDDR6X as the memory configuration of the RTX 3070 Ti. Taking a close look at the press-shot of the RTX 3070 Ti SUPRIM X, and comparing it with those of the already-launched RTX 3070 SUPRIM X and RTX 3080 SUPRIM X, we find that the card looks closer to the RTX 3070 SUPRIM X. This would indicate that MSI is reusing the PCB and cooler design from that card, which means that the RTX 3070 Ti likely maxes out the GA104 silicon, rather than being a heavily cut-down GA102.

A maxed out GA104 would mean 6,144 CUDA cores spread across 48 streaming multiprocessors, 192 tensor cores, 48 RT cores, 192 TMUs, and 96 ROPs. The chip also features a 256-bit wide memory interface, which we now know is capable of handling fast GDDR6X memory. Besides significantly increased memory bandwidth, the RTX 3070 Ti could also dial up GPU clock-speeds. NVIDIA probably finds these changes sufficient to compete with the Radeon RX 6800, which outclasses the RTX 3070 in non-raytraced gaming.

NVIDIA today released their latest GeForce drivers, which keep your GPU of choice ticking with the least amount of problems possible - in theory. Have you ever wondered if your graphics card could pack just a little bit more VRAM than it is advertised to come with? Well, if you have some spare time and some awesome soldering skills, you could find out yourself by placing higher-capacity VRAM chips in place of the standard memory. That is exactly what VIK-on, a hardware modder from Russia, has done with his graphics cards. Before, VIK-on modded the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 to support 16 GB of GDDR6 memory and modded NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3070 to also support 16 GB of GDDR6 memory. Today, VIK-on has done it again and the modder has tested his skills by proving that it is possible to install 22 GB of GDDR6 memory on the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics card.

The modder has taken a broken NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti GPU that was in very bad condition. He had to re-solder the GPU and fix some broken PCB traces. Finally, after that, he tried to install more VRAM than the card came with in the first place. The TU102 SKU is capable of handling up to 48 GB of VRAM, as seen with Quadro RTX 8000 GPU. However, the problem would be firmware support. VIK-on used a strap mod, leading the GPU BIOS to believe that there is much more memory present compared to the stock version, and the card managed to boot. However, some screen flickering was present and it had stability issues, so the mod isn't very successful.

Remember that story regarding NVIDIA relaunching a new RTX 3060 SKU that actually does limit the hash rate for Ethereum mining workloads? Well, not only has it been cemented, but it also has been expanded. Reports are coming in that all but confirm that NVIDIA is on its way to provide its partners with updated silicon that should put mining performance of their RTX 30-series cards into a less palatable price-performance territory for would-be miners. That, in turn, should bring them closer to NVIDIA's CMP (Crypto Mining Processor) cards instead - and as wanted by both the company and consumers.

According to the sources, the new graphics cards will be indistinguishable from those that are still in transit or in stock (all two of them worldwide, of course). NVIDIA is internally describing the revised silicon as "Lite Hash Rate", and that is the message they communicate with AIBs. Apparently, the new "Lite Hash Rate" graphics cards will range throughout the entirety of NVIDIA's already-released RTX 30-series portfolio, from the ill-fated RTX 3060 up to the RTX 3080 Ti - the only absent graphics card is the RTX 3090, apparently, which could mean that NVIDIA is confident enough on that graphics card's cost being too high to be attractive to miners - especially when you consider how much more they are going for above the MSRP that was half-heartedly slapped on it. The new chips carry an update to their SKU identification - the GA102-200 chip that powers the RTX 3080 is being revised to GA102-202, as will all other chips made "lite" in this way. Expect the new cards to start hitting retail come June.

Dell's gaming subsidiary, Alienware, has launched a product designed to reintroduce products of a company that was abandoned in the laptop sector a long time ago. Alienware's last AMD-based gaming laptop made an appearance in 2007, and for 14 years there wasn't an Alienware laptop with an AMD processor inside it. For all those years, the heart of Alienware laptops was promised to Intel, however, that is no longer the case. Today, Alienware has introduced a Ryzen edition of the m15 R5 gaming laptop, powered by... you guessed it, AMD Ryzen 5000 series of mobile processors.

The new Alienware m15 R5 Ryzen Edition laptop is set to bring the balance to the force. Featuring AMD's flagship Ryzen 9 5900HX overclockable processor, the CPU is paired with NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card. All of that is crammed inside a 15-inch body that offers QHD 240Hz or FHD 360Hz panels for the best possible gaming experience. MSI announced a gaming desktop equipped with Intel 11th Gen Rocket Lake-S processor. The intention with the RTX 3070 Ti is to bring the fight back to AMD, who released a pretty good offering to the market in the form of the RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT graphics cards - both featuring 16 GB of GDDR6 memory. NVIDIA is looking to improve its market position compared to AMD by offering both the RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti on the market. It could also be a time for NVIDIA to release another cryptomining-crippled graphics card - and this time to try and do it right by not releasing a driver that unlocks that particular effort. The card is rumored for launch come May, though we've already seen an unprecedented number of delays for NVIDIA's new SKUs - a sign that there is indeed a problem in the upstream semiconductor offering field.

MSI has added another pair of graphics cards to its RTX 30-series staple. After introducing a new pinnacle-tier brand in the form of the SUPRIM X, which packs what best engineering MSI's engineers can muster, the company has now launched SUPRIM SE versions of the RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 graphics cards. The difference is in the details: mainly, in the factory overclock and TDP. While the SUPRIM X cards feature MSI's highest TDP (280 W) and clocks (1920 MHz), the SUPRIM SE are much milder in those respects (240 W and 1785 MHz, respectively), while keeping MSI's SUPRIM cooler and power delivery design.

The lower clockspeeds probably signal slightly lower quality silicon than the one that goes into the SUPRIM X cards, but that also means lower pricing for essentially the same card. And who knows, you might be chosen by the silicon lottery should you choose this model's better-engineered innards compared to other MSI cards. Apparently, the cards are only available in some regional MSI websites, which may mean slow rollout to other markets, or their absence from their entirely.

Bitspower today introduced its Classic full-coverage water-block for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Founders Edition (model: BP-VG3070FE). The block also works with the RTX 3060 Ti Founders Edition, which shares its PCB with the RTX 3070 FE. A simple boxy shape defines this block, which is exactly 17.14 cm long, aligning with the short reference PCB of the RTX 3070 FE. Nickel-plated copper is the primary material, capped off with a clear acrylic top that's studded with addressable RGB LEDs. A matching aluminium backplate comes included with the block, as are thermal pads for the memory and VRM.
