Packaging

The package does not feature any extreme graphics on the front. Only a snow crystal in the top left corner is a reference to the Glacier naming scheme of the series. In the front bottom right corner we find three badges, namely the 80PLUS Gold badge, the one for the NVIDIA SLI ready certification and the badge for the seven year warranty. If you want to read more comprehensive details about the unit then you should take a look at the rear side of the package. There you will find various info about the characteristics, features and the power specifications along with a description of the available cables/connectors. On one of the sides of the box there are also two charts showing the efficiency and the noise level the PSU outputs at various loads.

Contents

Two thick layers of packing foam fully protect the unit, so it will reach the consumer's hands in fine condition despite the courier's mood. As a user's manual you will find a piece of paper folded in quarters while the rest of the bundle includes three Velcro ties, some zip ties, the essential modular cables and an AC power cord along with a set of fixing bolts for chassis mounting. We would also like to see a storage pouch for the unused modular cables but unfortunately In Win didn't include any.

Exterior

The side label is eye catchy since it is of high quality and it gives an air of luxury to the unit. The finish of the PSU is light matte and finger prone. On the front, the classic honeycomb exhaust grill is utilized and right below the AC receptacle resides an On/Off switch. Moving to the rear side, we meet the modular panel which accommodates quite a few modular sockets, six for the peripheral/SATA cables and four for the PCIe connectors. The hardwired cables consist of the 20+4 pin ATX, two EPS and two 6+2 pin PCIe connectors. All cables are fully sleeved and the sleeve goes all the way back into the casing, for the native ones. Also there is a grommet around the cable exit hole. Overall the external quality is very high and clearly indicates that this unit belongs to the high-end category.
