MP4Nation Brainwavz M2 In-ears Review

Introduction

MP4Nation is known for their well performing budget in-ears. Now they have released their first mid-end offering dubbed the M2. The M2 in-ears feature a brand new aluminum design and some specially constructed tips. The sample we got for review was a pre-production one that had some issues with the cabling and did not feature the full bundle. The final version of the Brainwavz M2 from MP4Nation will cost $59.99, and they come with a full 12 months replacement warranty!

Like the old Beta Brainwavz they are based around a 10.7 mm dynamic driver which is huge for a set of in-ears. Another key feature of the M2s is a newly designed cable which is much tougher than your average PU covered cable. Since cable issues often plague in-ear designs it is nice to see someone taking up the challenge and designing a more practical cable.

The Package

The Brainwavz M2 comes in a neat little cardboard box. Inside the earphones are held in place by a piece of foam. The packaging will survive anything but being crushed.

Since we got a pre-production unit the bundle is slightly limited. The bundle for the final product will consist of the following items: three sets of silicone tips (S/M/L), three sets of foam tips (S/M/L), earhooks, carrying pouch, shirt clip.

The shirt clip supplied with the M2s is quite nice and definitely helps to reduce unwanted microphonic noise from the cable.
