Introduction
The Radeon HD 7870 is now one and a half years old. Its GPU, Pitcairn, is a downscale from the HD 7900 "Tahiti" silicon that introduced AMD's Graphics Core Next architecture. Targeting a wide price-range, the HD 7800 series falls into the market-segment both AMD and NVIDIA have referred to as the "sweet spot". Apart from 1280 stream processors, Pitcairn has 80 Texture Memory Units (TMUs), 32 ROPs (Raster Operations), and a 256-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface holding 2 GB of memory.
PowerColor's HD 7870 Devil is based on the Pitcairn GPU (not Tahiti LE). Heavily overclocked to speeds of 1100 MHz GPU and 1250 MHz memory, the card comes with a large triple fan cooler that covers the card's whole surface. According to PowerColor, the card will retail at $240.

The Card
PowerColor's cooler design follows the Devil theme seen on other cards by the company. Dimensions of the card are 11 cm x 27.5 cm.
Installation requires two slots in your system.
Display connectivity options include two DVI ports, one HDMI port, and two mini-DisplayPorts. You may use all outputs at the same time, so triple-monitor surround gaming is possible with one card.
The GPU also includes an HDMI sound device. It is HDMI 1.4a compatible, which includes HD audio and Blu-ray 3D movies support.
A single CrossFire connector is available, allowing you to combine up to two HD 7870 cards in a multi-GPU configuration.
