Introduction

SilentiumPC was founded back in 2007 in Warsaw, Poland, with their first product on the market being their Zephyr fan. Since then, they have moved on from such humble origins to end up winning Benchmark.pl's Manufacturer of the Year award in 2012. With their continued dedication to improving on and expanding their product lines, which include fans, CPU coolers, cases, and even power supplies, SilentiumPC has slowly grown with their commitment to quality and performance per dollar leading the way. It feels like it is only a matter of time before they expand outside of Europe.


In today's review, I will cover the SilentiumPC Fera 3 RGB HE1224 tower cooler. Much like its predecessor, the Fera 2, this design is comprised of a simple single-tower heatsink that receives heat via four heat pipes and has been equipped with a single 120 mm RGB fan. However, it differs from the previous design in some fundamental ways. It features an offset design for better memory compatibility along with a new heat-pipe arrangement for optimized heat transfer. While the specifications remain similar, the new model has been tweaked to a significant degree. It will be interesting to see how it holds up against other entry-level offerings as SilentiumPC's Fera 3 RGB HE1224 is the most affordable RGB-equipped heatsink I have encountered at just €36.90, which is about $34.00.

Packaging

SilentiumPC uses quite a small box for this single-tower cooler, with it measuring in at roughly 14.3 cm in length, 10.9 cm in width, and 18.0 cm in height. On the front, you will find the model name in bold lettering along with a close-up of the cooler which wraps around to the right side. The cooler offers RGB LEDs on both the top plate and fan with both set to blue on the box. Moving to the left side, you will find the cooler's specifications as well as the CPU sockets it supports. Turning to the back gives us an overview of the various features this cooler has, including its hydraulic bearing fan, Nano RGB controller with multiple lighting modes, and ultra-silent operation, just to name a few.


On the right is the same image from the front as it wraps around the box. Meanwhile, the top shows the company logo along with the phrase "Quality, Support, Price, Professionals." The bottom not shown here simply has the barcode.

Opening the box, you will find the cooler under a piece of foam with the heatsink squeezed between two boxes. One contains the RGB fan and the other the mounting hardware.


Everything you need and nothing you don't—SilentiumPC sticks to their simple, necessities-only approach for included hardware. That said, they do give you an extra set of fan clips in the box for running a dual-fan configuration.
