A Closer Look

The single-tower design consists of thirty-eight aluminum fins and a top plate, no weird fin shapes or alternating thicknesses to be found anywhere. It is, however, offset to allow for better memory clearance. The Malik Customs Edition is also dark nickel-plated.

The build quality is rather solid for the price, and while the Malik Customs Edition is a bit more expensive, it does offer custom top plates. It comes with the regular black top plate the Fortis 3 uses pre-installed, but users can swap it out for a white, red, or blue top. It's also worth noting that the tops of the heatpipes are covered with the Malik Customs Edition, while the standard Fortis 3 HE1425 has no heatpipe caps.

The Fortis 3 HE1425 uses five Ø6 mm heatpipes that make direct contact with the CPU. The Malik Customs Edition's heatpipes are covered in nickel-plating while the standard Fortis 3's heatpipes are not.

SilentiumPC paired both coolers with a 140 mm x 140 mm x 25 mm Sigma Pro PWM fan. It has an RPM range of 500-1400. 120 mm fan holes are used, so keep that in mind if you plan on adding another fan.
