Thermaltake Spedo Advanced Package Review

Finished Looks

Once the windowed side panel is in place, one can still see the mainboard area, but half the visible area is covered by the plastic parts with the chassis, which kind of defies the use of a window. I suggest removing all internal plastic covers if you want to show off your lighting, GPU and PSU.

The front looks quite menacing with a single drive installed. I do like the overall look of the chassis and several drives or displays should look quite good within it. The rear still gives access to all the parts and ports. The grey PSU used, does taint the overall look of the rear, so I suggest you go with a black power supply as well. Thermaltake does make excellent PSUs - the Toughpower series for example.

Turning the unit on yielded mixed feelings again. The red LED fan up front is a really nice touch, along with the power and HDD LED design, but the overall noise of the fans can be considered very noticeable. If you are looking for a quiet computing environment, you will find yourself disconnecting the large 230 mm fans very quickly. Thermaltake did not include mainboard headers on any of the fans within the Spedo Advance, so you may be forced to go out and spend some more money on silent fans as well.
