A Closer Look

The Zalman Reserator 3 Max Dual is a closed-loop system that looks nothing like the competition. Comprised of a quad-radiator structure with black nickle-plated copper fins and tubes, it doesn't have the same fins per inch setup as a normal radiator. The clear plastic frame feels very solid and build quality is fantastic. The tubing, like with other prominent AIO liquid coolers, is smooth. What is different, however, is that it connects to the radiator in the middle rather than on one end, which sets Zalman's unit apart. As can been seen in the final image, there are two separate finned copper-cooling sections. The unit essentially has four small radiators, which results in a quad-radiator design.

Zalman's chosen pump design features their logo in the center, and its ring glows blue when in use. The tubing attaches to the pump via swivel fittings. The base is smooth and clean and only shows the few milling marks one should expect. What is unexpected, however, are the eight screw holes which are used to firmly attach the mounting bracket to the pump. A bit excessive, it will definitely hold in place well.

Zalman provided two blue LED ZE1225BSM PWM fans with the Reserator 3 Max Dual. They feature a PWM range of 1000-2300 RPM. Sadly, their wiring is not sleeved, which, like the Y-cable Zalman has included, leaves something to be desired.
