Packaging

The AirLive WMU-6000FS is packed in a colorful box. It lists features and shows a big picture of the device itself.

The sides of the box contain some more details and specifications. When you find the box in a store you can learn enough about it to know if it's what you need or not.

The WMU 6000FS itself is safely put in a bubble bag. Additionally there is a software CD with booklet, UTP cable, power adapter, antenna and two screws with rubber feet. Nothing unexpected and nothing seems lacking.

The unit

The WMU 6000FS is completely blue, just like most AirLive products. It's made of plastic with a see-through window on top.
The only form of control it has on the hardware are a shut down button and a backup button.

All connectors of interest are on the back. Power, two USB ports, Fast Ethernet and a connector for the antenna.

The Inside

When opened up you don't see much of interesting, the same connectors as on the back with some capacitors and a big empty space to place the hard drive.

Everything one could break as a user when installing a hard drive is safely on the back of the PCB. Everything is cooled completely passive, which is to be expected considering the wattage of the power adapter.
