A Closer Look - Inside

After taking off the sides panels, the unique inner layout can be seen. The part to the right holds the screwless installation brackets. These are made of plastic as well and simply clip onto the aluminum frame of the case. One of these became loose during transport and fell to the bottom of the case. It could not be used anymore, as the plastic clip did not hold anymore. It is a good thing that Cooler Master has included two additional pieces. The fan bracket forms an inner door. Here you can easily install four 12 cm fans without the use of any screws. The entire door is made of plastic and has spring loaded hinges. This means that the door can easily be removed.


The PCI slot covers are seperate pieces which are secured by thumb screws. You are free to reuse these inside the Stacker 832 or any other case if you wish. The thumb screws can easily be accessed even if the mainboard tray is inside the case. Above that there is a 12 cm fan, which uses a Molex connector for power.


The hinges of the front door are of very high quality. These are spring loaded as well. You can set the door to open in any direction you prefer. To remove the front drive bay covers, simply flip open both silver aluminum bars and take out the covers. These are constructed of plastic with a metal mesh, much like the kind used on the side panels.


Cooler Master has included a hard drive cage which is secured inside the case with simple screws. This cage can hold four hard drives and is constructed of steel. This would mean that the case is not actually "All Aluminum" as Cooler Master mentions on the package. A large 12 cm fan in the front of the enclosure keeps the hard drives cool. Unlike the rear fan, this one is clear with blue LEDs and also uses a fan header. Cooler Master included an adapter on this fan, so you may use it with a Molex connector if you wish. The front connectors are completely traditional. The one notable feature is the audio connector, which features HD, AC '97 and seperate connectors.


The mainboard tray can easily be removed after unlocking three plastic locks. It is rather large as it will also fit an eATX board. There is a white sheet to help you place the appropriate mainboard spacers.
