Introduction

I'd like to thank ASUS for providing the CPU, motherboard, and graphics card used in this review. This review would not have been possible without their support. Also, many thanks to Crucial for providing the memory.

Newly available on the market, almost right in time with Intel's Haswell platform launch, is Crucial's Ballistix Sport XT, a new product that focuses on more aggressive performance at the entry level. Designed for gamers who are comfortable with changing BIOS settings to unleash their memory’s full potential, Sport XT modules offer blazing-fast DDR3 speeds of up to 1866MHz and are available in higher 4GB and 8GB densities. Featuring a larger heatspreader with more surface area to help keep the modules cool when pushed to the limit, Crucial's Ballistix Sport XT also includes XMP profiles for easy configuration in Intel-based systems.

Crucial sent me their high-capacity 16 GB 1866 MHz C10 kit that operates with a default voltage of 1.5 V, making it a great choice for any system, even those based on current AMD products.
