Value and Conclusion

  • The Ikonik Zaria A20 with SIM will set you back around 160 US Dollars without tax, while the version without the SIM starts at 130 US Dollars without tax. This may seem like a lot, but you do get a very unique feature set
  • Kick start your PC!
  • Useful fan and thermal monitoring system in form of the SIM
  • Great construction quality
  • Unique fan layout
  • First midi tower that can take a CEB board on our test bench
  • Very sturding screw-less locking mechanism for the expansion cards
  • Good screw-less system for drives
  • Four fans included
  • Separately powered fan LEDs
  • Clean wiring of rear fan
  • No specific hardware needed for SIM
  • Compact, but should fit large graphic cards/CPU coolers
  • Holds up to five hard drives
  • Space behind front door for extruding devices like fan controllers
  • Informative package
  • A bit pricey
  • No reset button
  • Paint job quite thin, prone to scratches
  • Fans quite loud at full speed
  • Side fans of limited use
  • Cable mess almost unavoidable
  • Last possible fan not included
The Ikonik Zaria A20 with the optional SIM unit is certainly a very unique combination in many aspects. The first and in my humble opinion the best new feature in years, is the kick start button! The trend of unique continues with the placement of the side fans and the cover of the top I/O. Then, there are a few positive surprises in the inside, staring with the four included fans, of which three have separately powered LEDs. The optional SIM unit is certainly another great feature, removing the restriction of having a specific mainboard to gain access to thermal and fan monitoring within your PC.
The screw-less design works as intended and the expansion cards are held in place nicely. Just a few small things stand in the way of unclouded happiness. One being the omission of a reset button and that missing fourth fan apart from a somewhat high price at which all these unique features can be had. Nonetheless, the Zaria A20 with SIM is certainly a worthy and also good looking case. If you crave a chassis with a bit of that "check this out" factor, be sure to take a close look at the Zaria A20 from Ikonik.
