Overclocking

To find the maximum overclock of our card we used a combination of GPUTool and our benchmarking suite.
The overclocks listed here were achieved with the default fan and voltage settings as defined in the VGA BIOS. Please note that every single sample overclocks differently, that's why our results here can only serve as a guideline for what you can expect from your card.

The overclocks of our card are 1000 MHz core (0% overclock) and 1050 MHz Memory (5% overclock). I expected at least a little bit of overclocking on the core. On the other hand this means that MSI maximized the potential of this card, so you won't have to do any additional manual overclocking yourself. While all testing was artifact free, I could imagine a scenario like a hot country or badly ventilated case that could cause the card to produce artifacts.

Overclocked Performance

Using these clock frequencies we ran a quick test of Call of Duty 4 to evaluate the gains from overclocking.

The actual 3D performance gained from overclocking is 2.0%.

Temperatures

Even though they are looking a bit high, the temperatures are perfectly fine and look like an ideal compromise between cooling and fan noise has been found.
