Pure Video HD

I think most of you are already familiar with NVIDIA's Pure Video Technology, which is, in a nutshell, a way to improve the playback of DVD type movies.

Since the GeForce 8800 Series has so much more processing power, it is now able to apply the image enhancement process to HD content as well.

You will now see:

• Spatial-Temporal Deinterlacing for VC-1 & H.264 HD
  
• Inverse Telecine for VC-1 & H.264 HD
  
• HD noise reduction
  
• HD edge enhancement
  

In the popular HQV video processor benchmark, NVIDIA now scores 128 points with the GeForce 8800, compared to ATI's 113 of the X1950.

Please note that PureVideo does not work on DivX, XVid or other movies using non-official codecs. These advanced processing capabilities will probably make the GeForce 8800 a good choice if you are looking into going BlueRay DVD.
