I honestly cannot think of anything bad to say about the NZXT Phantom. After a long stretch of refreshes and no really new products from NZXT, this one really takes the cake and instantly pushes the company back into the spot light. A unique and well thought out design, great mix of interesting features and a healthy dose of functionality make this chassis nearly perfect. And with the long list of features it does not break the bank, costing just 140 Euros. While this is by no means a budget chassis, the price / price performance is excellent.
Going from the outside to the inside of the chassis, let us start with the look of the chassis. Straight lines and symmetrical curves along with well placed metal mesh make for an excellent visual experience. NZXT packs the chassis full with four fans: three 120 mm and one large 200 mm unit, well above average in enclosures of this size and price. There is so much space within the case that one can fill it up to the rim and should still manage to have enough space to hide any cables. On top of that the installation of all the parts is a breeze, so the case is pretty much perfect in most aspects. The one subjective downside is the fact that not everyone may like the design of the chassis, but let me compare it to a Lotus Elise. Many love the look of the car and are surprised to see an affordable price tag attached to it.
Let me write a few words about the Hale90 PSU as well. We usually stay clear of combining a case review with a power supply, but since both of these were launched at the same time and the white Hale90 fits absolutely perfectly into the white Phantom we chose to include it in this review. The power supply shines with very low operating noise, 80Plus Gold certification, modular, uniquely shaped cables and a white in white look. Overall the NZXT Phantom can be called the best chassis the company has ever presented, while the Hale90 is an excellent power supply if it keeps what it promises on the box, all in all very impressive NZXT!
