Value and Conclusion

  • OCZ's ATV Turbo 4 GB is sold for around $90, which is like three times the price of a generic 4 GB memory stick.
  • Great performance
  • Rugged
  • Supports Vista ReadyBoost
  • Cap holder included
  • Big and flashy - easy to find
  • Very High price
  • Low write speed on non-NVIDIA platforms
  • Rubber shell and color theme may not appeal to everyone
  • Included chain doesn't seem to be very durable
9.5With its Marsupilami-like looks I find it questionable if the OCZ ATV Turbo will look great in a business meeting. However, when you take it outdoors there seems to be not much that can harm it. Its dimensions are fairly big which means that it will be hard to lose, and easy to find. Even though it can not just reach OCZ's advertised speed it is still one of the fastest drives we ever tested with read speeds of up to 35 MB/s.
One thing I find a bit extreme though is the very high price which is like three times that of a no name 4 GB drive. No doubt, with OCZ you will get a premium product with very high speeds and excellent warranty that basically never breaks. But for that price difference you may want to think twice about the purchase. On the other hand if you have the money and like the looks there is nothing better on the market right now to fit your needs.
